Dutch Chocolate Tobacco

hi Annette,

last night I placed my order 4036 for your new dutch choco tobacco ... thanks for tackling such a complicated mix ... I am hoping it will replicate in liquid my long remembered choco Dutch pipe tobacco ... a few questions

I ordered it with extra flavoring ... does that mean extra chocolate flavoring or extra tobacco flavoring, or both ?

I may order the very same thing again, but with a different request or maybe just standard flavoring

is it possible to request extra tobacco flavoring only, while keeping the chocolate flavor standard ?

I do like a hearty, full-flavored, robust tobacco, with a tasty, not too-sweet chocolate hint

I realize adding anything to tobacco mutes the desired notes, especially chocolate

so I may order the same thing several times, with different requests ... I hope not to irritate you too much

I don't want to request changes that alters too much your original recipe and your intended flavor

thank you for this tobacco, I hope to submit a review, and maybe this first mix will knock my socks off

can you give me a preview/hint as to what to expect ?

Hi bbb, the dutch chocolate is paired to the tobacco taste to try to keep a constant balance from standard to extra flavor with both flavors getting stronger in tandem. The two tastes just go amazingly together and are even better after steeping. The chocolate is a nice, dark complex taste that is only slightly sweet and balances and mellows out the tobacco taste. I can raise and lower the levels of both flavors for you until we find the right balance that suits you. That's no problem, just let me know what you want and I'll adjust as needed!

I might have to try this one as well. Can always put in the swap thread if I don't like it. I shy away from chocolate just from previous bad experience (not with Annette's juices).

I received mine Friday and let it sit overnight with the cap off...was going to let it steep for at least a week, but yesterday I just couldn't resist and filled a carto. On the first couple of draws I really liked it, it tasted like delicious hot chocolate. On subsequent vapes I got more tobacco than chocolate, and that's when I decided to set it aside for a couple of weeks' steeping, hoping that will bring out the chocolate's dominance. If you are a tobacco lover, you will definitely like it.

re: the Dutch Chocolate Tobacco : I tried it fresh out of the mailbox ... I also let it steep for about 2 weeks ... I tried it in a fresh Vision Ego cartomizer and in a fresh Boge 3 ohm cart ... I tried it between 5.5v to 3.7v ... now that the test criteria is out of the way

Annette, let me state my disclaimer that I am probably not the best person to discern or describe delicate flavors I am sure your Bed of Roses, Blue Violet and Blooming Jasmine are fragrant, tasty, and wonderful for the nose ... but I may not have the genteel nose to really appreciate what you do best

I was a sea captain, a commercial diver and generally a bit like Jack Dawson without the artistic talent, all retired of course ... so my nose and taste buds need some powerful kickstartin'

maybe my expectations were bit high on this ... after all, I was comparing it to a long-ago memory of chocolate pipe tobacco

this is not to say my taster isn't way off and someone else will find this just absolutely perfect

I get a very dry, almost bitter, powered cocoa taste on inhale and not much else on exhale ... the dry cocoa taste is way dry for me, it's almost a pg taste, altho I know you don't have any of that in there ... personally, I think it needs to be sweetened up quite a bit ... and with more of a tobacco punch, if possible ... perhaps a little pepper and spice with a hint of toasted to highlight and enhance the tobacco ? ... imho, maybe it needs a bit more tweaking to make it as great as the rest of your flavors ?

this isn't a reflection or criticism of your juices in general so don't anybody be getting on their high horse I consider Annette one of the top flavorists around and I greatly appreciate her VG flavors and her willingness to customize to individual tastes !! so put that in yer pipe and smoke it (old phrase reference alert)

but this one just didn't do it for me, sorry again, it could all be the fault of my damaged and abused taste buds

I loved this flavor when I made it, but I know everyone's tastes are different. There are a lot of different directions I can go with it, but my biggest question is, does it need more chocolate? It seems some people are looking for a sweeter taste. I was going for a stronger tobacco taste with just a hint of dark chocolate to it. I could also add an option for "extra chocolate" so those that want the chocolate taste more in the forefront can have it made that way. I'd really like to hear from more people on this flavor as I haven't heard much feedback and would love to know if people feel it needs more tweaking. I know everyone's tastes are different, but there's usually a sweet spot where it appeals to most. Let me know what you think!

I'll chime in on this on also...I'm guessing mine has had about 15 days to steep now. I am using it in a Vision 2.0 clearomizer. I really like the flavor of the tobacco, but I do feel it could be a bit stronger. I get the chocolate flavor also but it is like you said quite faint. I ordered it with extra flavor all around fyi. So in short I am enjoying the flavor, but I was expecting it to be a bit stronger with the extra flavor etc...I think the option you mentioned of even extra chocolate flavor would be a good idea. I would like just a bit more of that also. Don't get me wrong I am enjoying this flavor and I do think it will get even better with a bit more steeping etc...It is already better than it was when I received it. You have imo done a good job with the extracting the tobacco as I love the taste, but as I said a bit more punch in both flavors would be good also! I don't vape a ton so I will be able to come back in a few weeks and let you know my feeling after some more steeping etc....Bob

One more thing I've noticed with this juice. It might just be me, but I am having a tough time getting this juice to vape right in any of my atomizers (I use a dual coil atomizer that works great with other juices) and a few minutes after filling my vision 2.0 clearomizer it wasn't wicking right and started getting the dreaded burnt taste? I've tried filling 2 different visions. When I empty out the Dutch tobacco out of the vision and put in a new juice (100% VG also) they work fine etc....Is anyone else having this issue? With that said it works just fine in a regular 2.0 Boge poly filled cartomizer and the taste is nice. It could be just me is guess? Anyway, looks like this juice will be staying in the LR Boge cartos for me.

That explains the leaking issue I think- I have had a real issue and only with the choc tob this time- so I will add a little vg to see if that helps. Will def add the extra choc next time.

Annette....I've just started with the tobacco flavors this weekend and not ready to make any formal review yet, but think you are heading in the right direction with an extra chocolate flavor. I'm not a big choc fan..but do find the current level interesting. I hope to have more time tomorrow to really give them both some attention again.

I will start by saying this is the first tobacco juice that didn't taste like green peppers to me. I had yet to find a tobacco juice I could vape, my taste buds picked up peppers so I was really leery about trying this. I like it, the sweet chocolate, not over powering the tobacco, and I can actually taste the tobacco lol. My only regret is I did not vape this in one of my preferred carto/tank set ups, I used a map tank/ce2 that I don't use often and I think I lost some of the flavor with this delivery. I think I may order this again with another order and try it again.
