I apologize if this is woefully off topic here, but this place is my vaping family, so...

Some misinformed and misdirected would-be do-gooder who apparently cares more about political correctness than real people is proposing a bill that would ban all sales of e-cig hardware in New York State. I don't need to go into how we all feel about this, but I'd just like to ask everyone here to *do* something about it. It affects all of us, not just those of us who live here. Here is the link that will help you contribute to the opposition for this travesty:

CASAA: New York State Call to Action

Dear God, why can't they just leave us alone...

Jesus H. Christ...your kidding right?

Unvelievable, isn't it. I could, sort of, see the logic if what was proposed was to ban nic e-liquid... But *hardware*??? It's ludicrous. What about people who want to vape 0 nic? I'm trying very, very hard to keep my teeth clenched so that I don't let loose with words and expressions that express how I *really* feel. If I did, I'd probably get banned from ECF... :(

We need to get the guys/gals names that are bringing this bill/ban forward,, find out all we can about them, dirt, bad things they have done if any, and get them all the bad publicity we can, I would love to see the streets of NY flooded with Fliers with the persons names on it that are doing this, Fliers that listed what an idiot they are, how many lives they want to kill by letting the people keep smoking real cigarettes and are trying to stop-Ban a great alternative to smoking that is much healthier. Politician that do this type of stuff need all the worst publicity they can get.

I bet you are right.

And - please forgive me, folks, if I offend anyone, I don't mean to, it's just my experience talking - but to me it figured that he is a Rep. I am just so *tired* of this idiocy and many other idiocies in our government. Why do we have to fight our own politicians all the time - the very people who are supposed to be representing our interests? In whose interests is it to endanger public health by preventing people from quitting cigarette smoking with it's health dangers, and second-hand smoke dangers, and pollution dangers? In whose interests is it to kill a healthy new growing small-business industry in United States that actually improves people's lives? Who benefits from spreading vicious propaganda and attempting to legislate against a pass-time that hasn't been proven to be any more harmful than drinking coffee? Why is it that some politicians try so hard to close their eyes to *facts* and focus on this propaganda?

And why, or *why* do people vote for these prostitute ideologues, who have immersed themselves in demagoguery aimed at nothing more than winning votes by swindling so deeply, that they, themselves, can no longer distinguish truth from propaganda, public interest from manipulating the public, and, for that matter, right from wrong???

Is it only because I am originally from the defunct Soviet Union, whose government so freely and blatantly engaged in propaganda and manipulation, that I so easily see through these so-called "public servants"? What am I missing here? Why are the people selling themselves down the river, forgetting their own best interests behind ideological catch-phrases, voting for people who prove time and again that they have no conscience, no sense - AND NO CLUE!!!

Phooph. I just can't stand current American politics. The sheer *stupidity* of it all boggles the mind. I've lived here all my adult life - 35 years at this point... I love this country as much as anyone does. And it frustrates me to the point of tears to see it being dragged into the abyss by, of all things, *idiocy, ideology, and demagoguery* - the same things that destroyed by birth country.

If the Tobacco Co's are lobbying (and padding pockets).....There should be Hell to pay
I cant help but think its not all FDA or USDA behind all this nonsense...

I'm soooo with you on this, but wonder if they'll even look at messages from people who don't reside in NYS.

Hard to say - but, for sure, it can't hurt. Besides - do people *have* to tell them they live some place else? (ok, i'm sneaky; all is fair in a fight against idiots).

Apparently some have been getting return email requests asking for full names and addresses.

Well, that's fine. Like I said, it can't hurt. And people are people - if you tell them a story of how PVs helped *you*, they can't very well say that it doesn't apply to New Yorkers...

I'm in the state, so I'm going to talk to everyone I know around here, including my doctor, my counselor, my psychiatrist, my pharmacist, and my lawyer. LOL Maybe, if they pass the stupid thing, we can *sue*. I'm sure there are all sorts of causes for doing so. Ordinarily I'm not into lawyers and suing, but enough is enough.

I'm also going to talk to my parents, my friends and my neighbors. And, to make it even better, they are all republicans here, too - except that they are all "old school" republicans - they don't believe in extraneous, stupid, and expensive legislation. In that, at least, I agree with them.

And, hey, my Dad plays bridge with some local honchos, maybe he can talk to them, too.

Heck, I just might make up a big sign that says: "Senator Kemp Hannon is trying to kill me and 250,000 other New Yorkers!", and parade around in Albany. I'm mad enough to do just that - and encourage others to do the same. Freedom of speech and assembly is a wonderful thing. Hey, you are in PA - want to join? :D

Or, maybe, my sign will say: "You'll take away my PV filled with my Belgian Cocoa e-juice over my dead body!". Or something...

Ok, the situation is not at all funny, really - but it's hard not to make ridicule out of the ridiculous.

There is a good thread about this...with the names and email addys of everyone you'll want to contact...in the ECF Legislation forum....

Yep. And the CASAA link also has all the email addys and stuff. Use those resources, my friends. I just had to let off some steam here, where I know people - for moral support, as it were. I'm really, really, really upset about this. Vaping is a big part of my life. Sure, I can have stuff sent to a friend in PA, only half an hour away. But how long before PA passes a law like that too? And I really resent being pushed into doing something illegal to save my life.

You make the signs and I'll try to find a way there. Yeah, this is definately NOT funny, but I can't help but chuckle at idea of the cops hauling this white haired, arthritic old woman away for protesting  gotta make sure the national media is alerted first though ;)

I wonder if a ban on hardware were to happen, venders could sell them as a flashlight with a bulb in 510/whatever connection. So it is only a pv when you put a carto on it. :p This whole thing is rediculous. I don't think these ban attempts have much backing by the public. Just pet projects with certain legislators backed by tobacco. I don't think they will get anywhere. Hope it works out new yorkers.

oh and sell the cartos as lip warmers
