Apparently some have been getting return email requests asking for full names and addresses.

I didn't get such a request.
After going to bed late last night (and tossing & turning), I cant help but think how devastating this would be to the vaping community (The state of New York). My God, when I order my vaping supplies, I always go to the "about us" link to see where my stuff is shipping from. There is a BOAT LOAD of vendors and significant others in NY, besides our beloved Chris from GV. BWB Juice, which I adore, Master MOD builder Zen~, Review Freak PBusardo, etc,etc...

If NY is shutdown people, we will all suffer a tremendous blow. How far can NY legislature take this?

"This bill would:
If enacted, prohibit all sales of electronic cigarettes. It amends New York Public Health Law, §1399-11, enacted in August 2000, which prohibited cigarette sellers and common carriers from shipping cigarettes directly to consumers."

I wonder what state is responsible for handling the import of chinese vaping supplies, that 99% of us have come to depend on?

Panic first, ask questions later..No matter what state you hail from, bombard the crap out of them with polite and respectful e-mails..(even though the SOB's don't deserve it)

Yeah, I am in a state of panic too - especially seeing how I *am* in the state of NY... I do wonder about the mechanics of importing - NY is as huge port of entry for all sorts of imports - will it affect Chinese imports? As far as I understand the proposal, it's to ban all sales of hardware in NY, physically or by mail. So importing to vendors outside NYS may not be affected - I'm really not sure on that point. Either way, it's insanity. You are right, there are lots of vendors in NY - and I'm not even sure what would happen to them - would they still be able to sell hardware to folks *outside* NY, or would they be forced to close doors altogether?

I didnt get such a request.

Really they are gonna ban a battery >< Only NYS. I work for the state of ny and for the past two years they have made us take a total of 9 unpaid days off by taking a % of our pay every paycheck. We are over paid? right I have worked there for almost 13 yrs and don't even make $38000 a year. But the higher officals get raises? This state makes no sense. I sent email to every one on the list in the other thread

I found this on another thread. May be good news

APNewsBreak: No NY law seen soon for e-cigarettes - WSJ.com

That is good news. It is disturbing, however, that the American Cancer Society can only see them as a method to get kids hooked on smoking. You would think they would be looking at the thousands of people who have been able to quit smoking!! I would have no problem with states banning the sale to individuals under 18.....just like real cigs....but leave the rest of us alone so we don't go back to smoking.

I totally agree that there should be a legal smoking age for them. The trouble this state is having with jobs and everything else you think they would have more important agendas to deal with........ but nope not NYS

The only way out of this conundrum is to focus our energy and get media on our side. I know there is movie being made, but it's not enough. We need human interest stories, telling people about how long-term smokers can kick the ash with this device, and how they feel better, etc. And we need small business stories, telling people about successful artisans and store-owners, and hiring people, and helping economy grow. And we need "American ingenuity" stories, telling people about inventive geniuses who engineer good APVs. We need to hit every button we can think of that is "in" with the general populace right now: environment, health, small business, American pride, savings, healthcare. And we need to keep hitting those buttons relentlessly, by talking to reporters, by advertising our blogs, by running letter-writing campaigns.

They attack us with propaganda - and we need to *hit back* with propaganda, and hit hard, and keep doing it, until most Americans out there, even those who have nothing to do with smoking, associate PVs with something *good*, rather than *bad*. IMO, that's the only way to handle it.

I don't know if CASAA is doing it, but CASAA is not specifically focused on PVs, is it? IMO, we need our own focused group, maybe a sub-group or something... But we need to get on it, or, else, we'll lose the most important battle, the battle for the minds, before we even realize it's on. It's already very late in the game.

With all NY has been through with 9/11 and all...GIVE THEM A FRIGGIN" BREAK!! It saddens me to read that people want out, but I cant say I blame ya'll...NY is a great state, be proud, stand up, and unite!

When the mis-informed, and un-educated have the power to pass Laws, it has always been a recipe for disaster.

All I know is Got Vapes (Chris and Danno) either had a crystal ball, or incredibly great timing, moving thier distribution to TX.
(Not to say the bureaucracy BS in NY has won, by a long shot)

Never say die people (or remember the Alamo, in our case) !!!

no not at all, we moved to texas because of growth, you cant run a restaurant with one person being the chef, waiter, bartender, chef's helpers , seater etc... certain things must be done to keep the business flowing so as a duo we did as much as we could until it got to much. Now that we are at full capacity we need to rearrange how we work things to serve everyone faster and better.
the shipping is a huge part of this business but without products and everything else that goes into this business we wouldnt have anything to sell if we spread ourselves out to much and then customers suffer as well when new york usps is acting up.

but now hearing this news in a way its a blessing business wise just in case this happens
i wish we would have started the site i wanted to where everyone donates a dollar to escrow until we have enough to hire the best lawyers to defned ecigs.
