e-cig, juice and airport security?

I'm planning on taking a trip to Canada in about a month. Really want to take my eGO and juice on the plane with me and not take a chance on losing it in my checked baggage. I'm just wondering about getting through airport security. I guess the juice would need to go in the quart size clear bag with other liquids, but do they become alerted by seeing the battery and shape of the e-cig itself as it goes through the scanner?

Would love to hear from others who have gone or tried to go through airport security with these devices and accessories.

The many reports on ECF regarding Canadian Customs and shipments being seized, I would tend to think that airport security would be even worse .. I would not risk it, but it's a personal choice ..

I just traveled from Canada to Vegas - no issues at all with American or Canadian customs / border security. I actually forgot to take my Echo out of my shirt pocket and made it through the metal detector at one airport.

If I were to give any advice, though, it would be to put your juice in with your shaving kit and in your checked luggage. Liquids will then be grouped together, and they all look alike on an x-ray machine.

If you're taking a bottomfeeder with you, then I would suggest bagging the juice and putting it in your carry on. Again - on an x-ray machine, it just shows up as liquid. You may want to put it in an unmarked bottle (i.e. no nicotine labeling), but otherwise you should be fine.

And, just saying, juice bottles aren't metal.

TSA won't give you any problems. Liquids in the ziploc bag. I store my electronics in my laptop bag, and haven't had any issues. As far as Canadian customs, I'm more afraid of them trying to slap me with a work Visa when I visit my customers there

Way back when, when it was iffy traveling from state to state, I'd take a couple of NicoSticks. I'd put them in with my laptop along with the attys and carts. The juice, I just put in unlabeled 3oz bottles and put them in the bag with my other bottles (shampoo etc.). They didn't even look at it twice.

Just as the others say . Put the juice (small bottle) unmarked , with your other , travel size liquids , shampoo, and such . As for the device itself . I usually take the batteries out , and put those and the devise , in my laptop bag , with my cellphone , and PSP . And have yet to have anyone stop it , or even ask about it . But again , it's ultimately up to you . If you have some EL Cheapo's , that you don't care about , then if they get confiscated , you won't be out much .

I have traveled with my e-cig ( and my wife and her e-cig ) a lot lately, Joye Ego with long batteries, spare batteries and atomizers and cartridges and a 10mil bottle of juice each.

We both have ego kit bags ( zipper kind ) we put everything in the kit and left it unzipped and open so they could see what was inside ( including the juice )

We were pulled aside by a TSA agent who told us we can keep those zippered as they didn’t want to get our e-cigs dirty.... they know what they are and that they are not dangerous.

for the last few flights, we didn’t even unzip the carrying cases with the e-cigs in them.

I have yet to have a problem going through security with the e-cigs

You'll have no problem taking your PV and juice on the plane with you. Do remember to put your juice in the quart bag. They "may" stop and look at your PV but if they do its no big deal and won't give you a problem. You won't have any problem taking nic juice for personal use.

The only problem I had was my reo grand looked very fishy on the xray machine. They pulled me off to the side, I explained what it was and they swabbed it and stuck the swap into a tester. It beeped, they gave it back to me and I vaped like mad in the bathroom.

This was in the US I dunno about Canada customs

In Canada there's a ban on the importation of nicotine e-juice .. I would personally er on the side of caution myself ..

Mexico has a ban on importation and sale of E-cigs, we were told by the officials at the airport that the ban did not apply to a personal one, just importation for sale.

That may not be the case in Canada.... but flying to Mexico where the importation/sale of PV's are illegal, it was not a problem

But that doesn’t mean that what Uncle Willie is saying is wrong. Erring on the side of caution is probably good advice.

I have not flown into Canada with one, but a couple of times into Mexico now.
