Hi there! I am anxiously ( and impatiently!!! ) awaiting the arrival of my first e-cig starter kit ( Hurry the hell up, Fed Ex guy! lol! ) and I am chock full of questions. I found this forum, and was thrilled to see that there is actually an active community of vapers, and I am eager to join in the ranks! ;) As soon as my starter kit arrives, I hope to become smoke free - I have been a half a pack to a pack a day smoker for about 15 years now, and I am ready to be D-O-N-E, done. But I have to admit...I really enjoy the activity of smoking, the inhaling and exhaling, which is where the e-cig comes in to hopefully save the day! ;) I ordered my starter kit from V2 cigs ( v2cigsdotcom ), and from what I could tell, their customer service has been great so far! I ordered the Ultimate Kit, since I am planning to commit to this and figured that the expense would be redeemed when I am no longer buying traditional cigarettes at nearly 7 dollars a pack! I like the idea of the 2 part e-cig, as I really don't wish to have to worry about refilling cartridges or having bottles of juice to try to hide from the kids, and I would LOVE to hear some feedback from any of you that wouldn't mind sharing your experience with me! Has anyone here dealt with V2 cigs? What are your thoughts? Good? Bad? Any tips and pointers would be MOST welcome!! Thank you in advance! I look forward to getting to know you all here! :)

I have never dealt with that company, or tried any of their juices.. so I would have no input as far as that is concerned. I just wanted to say welcome to ECF and a new healthy life! There are SO many great, helpful people here, someone will be able to give you feedback on that company, I am sure :) Best of luck on your new endeavor!

I havent dealt with that company either...
Eventually you may want to gradually look into refilling the cartomizers to help save yourself some $....
alot of places put some unrealistic numbers on what a cartomizer or cartrige is equal to.. in all reality a cartomizer is about equivalent to a half a pack of cigarettes....and the absorption rate of the nicotine is a bit slower so I'd expect to see yourself taking a drag of the e-cig more often as you break free of the regular cigs...so I'd be expecting to go through about 2 cartomizers a day...so without refilling them you're looking at a pack of cartomizers lasting you about 2.5 days...depending on what they're charging for cartos...you might not see the savings for a while..
So, by refilling them...even if it's just 10 times and then pitching them you're going to save a lot more...

I'd also try and figure out exactly which model of ecig it is....and then see who else has compatable cartos...you may be able to shop around for cartomizers that'll work with what you got ...not locking you in to their specific stuff...and really opening up the versitility of it into something that's definitely going to work for you...

EDIT: it looks like a basic KR808d-1 model....which is the same thing as the V4L vapor king or any other KR808d-1....which means you should be able to get replacement parts a lot cheaper (for example replacement batteries theirs are $25 each and V4L they are $16.45)

You'll also find a bigger choice of flavors refilling your own and its really easy and quick and as for hiding stuff, its no more of a hassle than keeping bleach out of the kids reach :)
I havent dealt with v2 either btw - the site looks a little on the pricey side in my opinion - check out the ECF Library thread so you can see ALL the options (without any sales pitches).
Welcome to the forums!

Welcome to forum, congrats on taking the first step toward quitting. I started with a similar E-cig and quickly switched to an ego with refillable carts. If you love your first E cig good for you, if you find the pre packed carts dont last long enough and that the vape amount quickly dies down; dont get discouraged get an ecig that will take eliquid and vape away!

Good Luck!

Re starter kits,

Seems like a lot of people find out about vaping through starter kits. I bought my first one 10 days ago in a pharmacy and quickly realised that the replacement carts were going to cost me a lot. So I went online looking for a cheaper alternative and discovered the vaping community, then ordered a 510.

What I'm saying is, even if your first e-cig isn't so great, it doesn't really matter. If it gets you off analogs and onto vaping, it's worth the money. Once you get into it, you can move up to another model, and you'll still be saving money by not smoking.

I'd go with what you got and gradually check out what others are using, then once you think you have the right information, choose something else, (if you feel you need to - you might not).

As stated above, it is a good bet to get juices to refill with as will be cheaper in the long run, it is really a lot easier than it sounds and no more time than it would take to make a quick run to the store for your previous analogs! I also have children who are very curious, we had a discussion about how my ecigs and equipment was still dangerous to them even if it was better for me and I showed them what everything looked like, I use a small metal cash box with a lock and keep it in the fridge (you could also leave it in your bedroom closet or something as well, just a cool dark place) its better for my piece of mind just in case! Good luck and by the way I stock the postman still after I order new stuff lol :)

You are starting out the same way I did. I have not been to this site but I started with a KR808d-1, a 2 piece model. I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings and they're not actually, but you will start cleaning cartos and shopping for juice! It's just too much FUN!!! All The flavors and the entire experience ( after the first few weeks) make you say YUM and this is WAY better than smoking! I just ordered from Mrs T's Bakery. I'll lket you know how that goes! I ordered Caramel Cheesecake, Irish Cream and Chocolate Brownie. Sounds WAY yummier than chomping on a Pall Mall!

Hi newbee I got started a few months back with V2cigs and have found the customer service to be great. as far as prices on carts there smoke for fee program has been working for me. I've already got $45 in credits so my unit cost is lower but I have not done the math. they say they will have juice and new flavors soon. I actually looked at v4l and found there site a little confusing and they did not have a support phone number but from what I've seen they have the most flavors out there.
Anyway here's my starter tip. Carry to differ flavors and strengts so you can switch as desired during the day. Happy vaping!
