I'm looking into e-cigarettes, quite a lot actually. I've been smoking for a few years, but I still have some "self-control" over it. I smoke roughly half a pack a day, depending on how I'm feeling and what I'm doing. I've been looking at corner stores, and I've tried a few but they just don't do it for me. Friends of mine have e-cigarettes from ....ty corner stores that can't be refilled etc;

I just need some advice! :D I've done a small amount of research on .......... and I'm wondering if anyone has bought their products? I think I want to get the E8, but I'm not sure on the additional options. :(

Just a few questions to bombard you with..

- What is the average life of a 50ml e-liquid bottle?
- How easy is it to refill an e-cig, and do I have to change cartridges? or can I just put the same e-liquid in the same cartridge?
- Average battery life?
- Suggested nicotine content?
- Is there ANY scent from the vapour, if I go with a flavoured e-liquid?

Thanks. :)

I've never heard of them. Looks like a m40x or something.

- Shelf life of about 2 years. For the average person, 50ml would last between one and a half months to three months depending on how much you vape. Average is between 2 - 4ml per day.

- Depends on the heating element. For cartomisers like you're looking at it's very easy. Just pop off the cap and put the liquid down the sides into the filler. You can refill with the same liquid. You can also buy blank non filled cartomisers to use with whatever liquid you want to initially.

- Each battery should have a mAh rating. It's somewhere near 120mAh for an hour of use. So if you have a 650 mah battery you can expect about 5 hours of heavy use from it etc. The E8 ones you're looking at, I wouldn't expect more than an hour from them for how much I vape.

- For a pack a day smoker, probably 18mg but it's really subjective. I suppose most start around 18mg so you can see if you want more with 24mg or if you need less with 12mg or lower.

- Yes. There is a scent, but it is not a lasting scent. It will not stick to fabrics or your person. It also depends on the flavour how strong it will be and how long it will stay in the air.

If you really want to stick with a cigarette looking ecig then I'd suggest the volt or halo g6 or the bloog. They are all the same insides; just different branding and therefore price. For their size, I highly doubt there is a stronger performing 'cig size' ecig on the market right now.

Up to 320mAh batteries, auto or manual (possibly the most robust autos out there right now), 808 threaded so you have more options for a PCC, heating elements and things to use with them. Not as many as a 510 but much more than if you used a supermini m401 type. Superminis tend to be less than 120mAh and I've seen some rated at 70mAh. You'd be constantly recharging them.

There is also bigger ecigs that will last a while, like the ego or riva. 650 mAh or greater in capacity for the same length on the 650 mAh but 'fatter'. Worth looking into if you want something more solid than a cig sized or want longer between recharges.

The ego is regulated to 3.2v and the riva is unregulated from 4.2v going down to I think around 3.2v before it needs charged, or something close to that for the riva. It means the riva will be a warmer vape than the ego but it will not be consistant in voltage as you're using it.

As far as I know, you can't import nicotine to canada, so be careful about ordering full kits, as customs could seize the whole lot if there's prefilled cartridges/cartomisers with nicotine in them.

50 ml of juice should last you about a month.
Refiling is easy.
A 100 mllliamp battery wil give you an hour of vaping. They come in sizes from under 100 to well over a 1,000.
For a half a pack a day somewhere between 12 and 24 ml. I would start at the higher level.
I have read that some people can smell the vapor. Most people don't.

Thanks a lot for your reply. :) I'm looking into getting something that is for indoor use, I live in a fairly high up apartment and the only outdoor source to smoke is the fire escape and I get .... for it. :p Anyways, regarding your last statement.. do you know if anyone has had problems? I want to get nicotine in the cartridges, cause I don't know if it's even worth buying without them. Is there a possible alternative or trick? Thanks again.

Thanks! The kit I was looking at comes with a "long" and a "short" battery, at first I thought this was just the size of it but I suppose it makes more sense if it's based on battery life.

Hypothetically speaking, if I were to buy a stronger flavoured vapour (, blueberry, etc) would there be a larger chance of smelling it or is it just a standard vapour scent?

Edit : Are you an e-cig customer?

Once you get 5 posts, wait an hour and ask about the nicotine through customs here: Canada Forum

I don't actually know 100% what it's like for Canada right now. I'm just fairly sure they banned nicotine import, but the actual hardware is fine. Most people seem to ask vendors to mark the parcels so it's not obvious it's nicotine in there. And there seems to be Vendors within Canada so you wont have the customs problem.

You'll probably find a lot of threads about it in the Canada subsection. Sorry I can't be more help on that.

For the smell of vapour, if it's higher in pg content it doesn't seem to linger as long if you're worried about it and it seems to be mostly sweeter flavours that are easier to smell. My cappuccino is something I get comments about (positive) but the plain virginia doesn't smell too strong.

When I say smell I mean the vapour is going almost directly into someone's face, by wind or they've walked into it. After the exhale, the vapour dissipates very quickly and doesn't linger for too long. If you have a window open I doubt anyone would know you vaped at all if they walked in 5 minutes later no matter how fogged out you made it in there before.

Alright thanks for the advice, I'll try and get in contact with their support and see if we can work something out for my own safety.. If customs happened to seize it I assume they'd give a refund? Or I could just dispute the PayPal payment haha. Once I reach 5 posts I'll go browse around there though. :) I'm not too worried about it though, I just want to get away from smoking in my apartment.. It always smells like smoke considering the years of nicotine soaked into the walls but I just don't want any funky flavours stinking up the place!

Have you tried any American brands? I personally haven't, and I saw this site has Benson & Hedges, Marlboro etc; so I was wondering if you or anyone else might have a tip there.

I'm really not sure what would happen to be honest. I've heard some people say they got another one shipped out to them though when it got seized or just kinda disappeared into the mail.

All you'd really need to ask is that either they ship the prefilled carts (if there are any) seperately so you get the actual ecig itself without nicotine to be disputed. Pretty sure they'd do it, or just ask if they'll take the carts out of the box and order in some prefilled carts within Canada or some liquid and blank carts.

It would just suck to order the ecig and have it seized for like 5 cartos or something when the ecig costs a lot more.

For tobacco flavours, it's a bit more like, try not to think you'll get something that tastes like a cigarette. It's hard to imagine maybe but once you've vaped for about two weeks and you try a cig again, it doesn't really taste of anything but ashtray and burning paper. Realistic tobacco flavours are hard to come by.

What I have found though, is some like virginia get really close to the actual tobacco leaf pre burned which is close enough for me. You're likely better off going for something you like to eat or like the flavour of than trying a tobacco flavour, but you never know, there's some tobacco flavours I really like the taste of, even though they're nothing close to the taste of a real cigarette.

Well, like I said I'm paying with Paypal so if my item isn't received I can simply dispute the payment if the site doesn't want to co-operate with me, so I should be covered there. I have found some Canadian suppliers, seldom, but I found some. I'm going to order the E9 from E Cig.

I'll go with your advice on the Virgina :) Also getting an extra 4 cartos, think I might try the for the hell of it!

If you check this thread, you will find a world of flavors, and a lot of people tell you where they got them. and I mean a LOT of flavors :)

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/237068-name-your-fav-flavor.html

Tobacco flavors are difficult, there are a lot that are close, but like leftfield says, hard to copy burning paper and ashtrays, not to mention tar, carbon monoxide, cyanide, and the thousands of other carcinogens in analogs.

The aroma will be noticed by some, but for most people it is pleasant (unless it smalls like skunk weed :) ). My mom hates analog smoke, but I get compliments from her a lot when I vape. I was just testing some new juices I got, and she said it smelled like a bakery. I wouldn't worry about the folks in the Apartment building, they may only think you are baking if they notice anything at all LOL.
