Guys & Gals,

I am looking for advice.

I have a mini air pump with tubing that is attached to disposal blu cigarette. It is used to create a smoke effect. Think portable smoke machine.

Here is a Video to see what I am trying to explain.

I am looking for a alternative to the blu cigarette with the following:

-rechargeable, longer lasting battery
-replaceable atomizers
-refillable with my own juice
-pass thru, able to pop off the led end so the smoke is produced (see video).

If anyone can share specific makes and models of battery, cartridges, atomizers, hardware that will be awesome.

Thank you for your time and expertise.

Rafael

I own a smog machine. Watch the video to see what I am asking for. This is for a small portable smoke effect.

Removing the led allows the smoke to come out from the led side.
Are you a magician or the owner of that magic supplies company?

Hm, magicians upgrading from the dry ice/water combo ... interesting.

The cigalikes activate when drawn on. i.e. pressure differential.

All the bigger stuff capable of producing more vapor ( not smoke, plse ) have a dedicated 'fire' button and draw the air through holes in the atomizer itself, not through the whole e-cig. But once you disconnect the atomizer from the power source nothing will happen of course :)

Would need your air pump to suck in the vapor through one hose placed over the mouth piece and eject through another to wherever you want the audience distract to. Air pump modified for that, any subohm atty running on 100% VG should do.

Ya know, this topic is taken way too seriously here - and especially now in context of regulatory efforts - to expect assistance with diddling an e-cigarette into a poops and giggles prop for a magic act.

If you want to talk about saving lives by quitting smoking you are more than welcome. If you are looking for us to assist you developing the best option to sell to your prop customers - at profit - you are way off base and most likely in violation of several ECF terms of service.

I am an entertainer, magician being one of my jobs. I don't own or sell any products. That is a sample video

8 seconds safety, got it.

@supertrunker

I am using a e-cig to create a mini fog machine because mini fog machines costs way too much money.

@Steamix

Since the bigger products have a button which smaller product will work better than a blu e-cig to produce vapor?

I am really looking at the smaller blu e-cig thickness devices.

I was thinking about using blu rechargeable batteries with a 3rd party rechargeable cartridge to fill with 100% VG. But I am not sure if I can find batteries that work better or are better quality.

Not sure this is the right forum to inquire about altering e-cigarettes. I might suggest visiting Halloween Forum where there is a lot of discussion about not only fog machines, but various adjustments and ways to achieve unusual effects. Matter of fact, I believe there was a thread last years about trying to accomplish exactly what you describe. Might be worth your time to search there.

Any flashlight forum will point you in the right direction as to the best batteries to use.

When you vape, battery safety becomes very important - it's not a smog machine 20 feet away - it's a device inches from one's face.

I'd suggest for your own safety that you don't use crappy Blu batteries for another purpose, but look into battery safety and the parameters you need to operate within. That way you can use batteries matched to the loads you want to use and be safe.

Be safe. Above all, be safe.

If you are wanting a mini smog machine (your term) get a pack of marlboro's light one and put it on that little rubber tube and smog away. But if you are looking to make a mini FOG machine I think the Blu is about the right direction. Most rechargeable cigalikes get are from where the atomizer attaches to battery. Disposables get there air looks like from led area.

Fog machine, autocorrect changed it.
Hey Rafael, I think it's a pretty novel hack, the requirement for what you are doing seems best fit by what we call cigalikes, because they turn on when they sense the "draw". So your options are going to be the Blue, Vuse, and Mark Ten. There may be others, but these products are Big Tobacco offerings, and they really aren't designed to produce a lot of vapor. These type devices use rather weak batteries by design fault to allow the small form factor. They rely on wisps of vapor with a highly concentrated nicotine level. Later generation devices use much more powerful batteries, and of course that makes them have a larger form factor, and all of them that I am aware of require pressing an activation button.

There is some concern that using these devices outside of their intended purpose and beyond their design parameters might incur some risk, one of those risks being the venting of the battery that powers them. Not that I wouldn't laugh hysterically at an entertainer venting a battery while trying to entertain his audience, but if that venting battery wasn't in a properly designed device to let the hot and rapidly expanding gases to escape, that device could act as a containment vessel for rapidly building temps and gasses and the resulting failure would sound more like a boom than a hiss...again, not that I would not find this causing me to erupt into sudden uncontrollable laughter, but really, not something to be taken lightly.
