My husband smokes cigars and I was considering getting him an Artisto e-cigar for his birthday. Not sure if they are any good or if anyone knows of any that are awesome. They make e-juice for it. You can use any e-juice but I think at least at first he would use the cigar flavor. Any suggestions etc I would greatly appreciate

It's fascinating to see users (or friends/family of users) of pipes and cigars looking into vaping products. I always wanted a "pipe" type e-cig, maybe even a cigar styled one, just for fun.
There are no secrets in the vaping world though (not really) and ultimately, what gives the user satisfaction is the taste and vapour, not really the hardware i.m.o.
The pipe I looked at uses the same clearomizers as normal ecigs, and most e-cigars use some sort of cartomizer system, to the best of my knowledge.
The product you are looking at is possibly OK, but comes at a remarkable price for the hardware, refills, liquid etc. You could make a better e-cig (in a cigar size) for less money. I recognise elements of the kit you are looking at, and there's not much there really.
The self-proclaimed 5 star ratings are, of course, completely unreliable. $25 for an 850mAh battery in a cigar 'skin' is... well... still a $3.24 battery in a cigar skin.
I think you'll understand what I'm getting at.
If money is no object, and the form factor counts, then maybe... maybe.
Would I seriously expect it to be 'worth' $199... supposedly discounted from $249? NO.

I would buy an eGo ONE (or something along those line) and put in some premium cigar flavor liquid from one of the premium juice makers.

I was a two pack a day smoker for 15 years - quit smoking for about 10 years completely... then I found cigars... >.<

over a 5 year period, I got up to about 3 cigars a day - and I was smoking handmade cigars (not Opus X, lol, but not cheap - average stick was $5-$7)... then I found vaping - have not had a cigar in since April at this point (though I do have a well maintained humidor...) - depending on the type of cigar he prefers (mild, medium, full body) and whether or not he is inhaling, he might try something like the kanger subox - good vapor, good throat hit (i am using .5ohm coil and 6mg nic) - all you would need then is to find him a flavor of juice he likes - I actually started with coffee flavors/ tobacco flavors but quickly moved to more candy/ custardy type juices - mileage may vary, but that is what helped me put em down (and I was a medium / full bodied stogie huffer)

I had to look that up, and I'd say hell no on the $200 price tag. There is a "disposable" model for $20 you could let him try that and see if he likes it maybe.
+1 on the Ego One or similar. Strong tobacco flavors tend to taste a lot like a cigar anyway,
ego one mega with a kanger subtank plus would be like a big ol' cybercigar +1! and significantly less than $200... black ego ONE with stainless kanger... bringing back the sexay!

if he is a cigar smoker then he has an advantage over most vapers when starting out, the ego one mega has a great form factor that is similar to a cigar in size...
now for juices I would suggest using some NETs (naturally extracted tobacco) I don't vape tobacco flavor anymore so I'm out of the loop but there are a few threads on them and even one on the NET awards that is worth checking out

Yeah I think for him he would still enjoy the feel/look of a cigar. I was looking at just the starter kit which is $79 I believe. He has tried my e-cig and he likes it but I think if he were sitting out on the back porch with his friends smoking cigars he might get a kick out of one of these. Hmmmmm. Well I have till November to think on this. Lol! He sure would smell a lot better and not have funk mouth if he used one of these. :thumb:

Being on this forum for a year I see that ex-smokers could be divided in two groups: smaller one like tobacco-flavored juice and the bigger one hate it. Anyway, there is no juice that really tastes as tobacco. So, my advice is to buy more than one bottle of juice, tobacco flavored and non-tobacco flavored, just to be on a safe side.
EDIT: I see you are a vaper, so you already have "other" juices.

Well it was for a birthday present idea so I wasn't going to tell him about it. I was going to send it to him in Afghanistan ( current station) since he will be there on his birthday. Heck he could use this in his room and that he may totally like that. Lol. I was checking out You Tube videos on these and I think he would get a kick out of the starter kit. I saw on the Aristo website they have a sample pack of all their e-juice for the cigar flavors so he could try them all and see if he likes any of them. And then of course if he doesn't well he can always use any of mine. I think it is cool they have options like cigars and pipes for people that want the different experience.

I kind of said that in post #3. The downside is the price.

and the outrageous claims.

- Tastes Like a REAL (High-End) Cigar. NO - There's no substitute for the flavour of burning tobacco.
- A Long Lasting Rechargeable Cigar Battery - NO. 850mAh is not long lasting, by any measure.
- Each Cartomizer Provides 1,000 Puffs When Filled With 3ml Of Aristo E Juice! - NO. Not possible, unless it makes virtually no vapor.
- BIG VAPOR - NO. Not unless they want to re-think the 1,000 puffs claim.

However, as I said, if you still want to buy... BUY! :)

(I'll leave the thread now....)

Lol. I'm going to keep researching. I definitely think I'm going to go for the cigar version for him, but still have plenty of time to look for options and get more bang for my buck.

I'm a former cigar smoker who used e-cigars to quit. Unfortunately, e-cigars are pretty outdated, overpriced, and don't remotely mimic the experience a cigar smoker wants, which is full-bodied flavor and vapor. I used the Vapor Zeus e-cigar years ago because it was better than cig-a-likes, but I wouldn't say I really enjoyed it. So I'd strongly recommend not buying based on looks, because it won't really perform to a cigar user's satisfaction.

This isn't my normal recommendation, because he's a cigar smoker, not a cigarette smoker, but I would probably go with a Smok TCT tank, on a IP DV2, with a bottle of Ripe Vapes VCT at 6mg. That should give him the dense tobacco flavor and vape that a cigar smoker wants for a good price.
