About six months ago when I was on Amtrak they actually had an announcement saying the use of "electronic smoking devices" was not permitted.

I was on Amtrak two weeks ago, and on both the trips there was no announcement.

Regardless, stealth vaping sure is wonderful.

That prohibition has been in place for quite a while.

We rode the Amtrak from Chicago to Washington, DC, back in September 2012. We got the announcement about "no smoking or using electronic smoking devices, or we'll boot you off at the next station." So, every so often, I took a "potty break." I'd also come prepared with unflavored e-liquid.

Once when I entered what Amtrak laughingly calls a "lavatory," I caught the faint but distinct whiff of Boba's Bounty!

We have to get used to this, vaping is seen as smoking because it looks like it, no point arguing with closed minds. And the antz hate anyone getting round smoking bans which are their to encourage us to quit now. They used to be to protect from secondhand smoke but they moved the goal post on that too.

Almost... Bans are meant to torture smokers into quitting, not "encourage."
