Not tobacco.. they are for sure a big help quitting tobacco (i havent touched a real cig in half a year), but just to quit the whole "smoking" ritual in general if you ever want to. Since I got my e-cig, I defintiely smoke more, which is not too bad cause I use low nicotine and still smoke much less than an average person. But anyways, I've come to the conclusion that if I ever DO want to quit 'smoking' it will be WAAAYYY harder now then it would've been when I was smoking actual cigs. When I smoke now I get way more enjoyment then I did from real cigs. Not only am I addicted to the whole smoking process itself now, but also to how good it tastes.

Anyone else? lol

E-cig's make it harder to quit smoking.

I've been thinking about that myself. But I think if you were to slowly reduce the nic down to nothing, and puff no nic for a while, it might not be so bad. It's the nic that has the strangle hold on us. Face it, we are not vaping because we really want to quit. We do it cuz we like smoking but are concerned about the health consequences. I guess we won't really know until someone tries to quit e-cigs. Any takers! No?

The E-cig is not a devise to quit smoking, but for some people that's what they want and they will succeed, I guess the same as with a nicotine patch or the gum.
Whatever you set your mind to, I think.

I started because I wanted to cut down, I did and gradually I quit smoking all together.
To me that's amazing.

When I first got my KISS I used it all day long.
Now I forget about it for hours.
I do not not have that: "I really need a puff from my E-cig right now.

I do not wake up and can't wait to have that first puff.

I think if I really wanted to quit it all together, I can do that.

All in good time.

I'm on about 6 weeks now of e-smoking instead of dirty tobacco burning :D

I don't know (and don't care) right now whether or not it will be harder to quit the e-cigs. I am just happy that e-smoking has 100% successfully replaced cigarettes for me. As far as I can see they are healthier, cheaper and smell and taste nicer.

I am on the high strength carts right now and I've just bought a box of 100 medium strength in from e-cigs.co.uk, so I am ready to move down a nicotine level once my high strength run out (I've tested a medium already and noticed little if any difference) (then its going to be low ..... then 0 nic carts)

I am taking my time and not even thinking about quiting the e-cigs right now. I am 100% positive that it will work though once I am ready (I am aiming for a minimum of 2-3 months of e-smoking each strength) so I think I can realistically quit within 12months total.:thumb:

i think i agree with the cat in the funny hat.. but i am a confirmed "swapper" right from the word go.. i didnt see any way i could lose my nicotine addiction when i real smoked.. i still dont..

i can also see how it could be harder for some people to quite e smoking than real smoking.. it might be a trap for some..

my advice is dont e smoke in any way if u dont have to..

lol @ cat in the funny hat!

And I'm not saying it can't be done, cause of course it can! I'm just saying there are more things that are enjoyable to me about smoking an e-cig compared to my enjoyment of real cigs, so overall it'd be harder I think. kudos to thoes who have done it so far! I will too soon enough, but dang it will be hard! they're so tasty. :p

It's been a week since I got my pen-style. I love it. I'm saving money, the Governor is getting less sin-tax. Clothes aren't so smoky. But today I broke down and had a regular cigarette. I was in the "smoking area" outside my workplace, and I bummed a menthol from a coworker. I will admit, the "menthol" in the cartridges just aren't as "menthol-ish" as a menthol. The good news is that the tar/crap/etc of the regular cigarette made me a bit nauseous. I think the e-cig is a good step toward stopping the tobacco cigarette habit.

That is ok! Just get back on the wagon and all will be well, all of us fall off every now and then!

its a bloody good step.. but whats in doubt is it might not be such a good step as regards stopping the nictotine habit..

it might have the opposite effect and get some people more nicotine addicted than what they previously were..

i know i aint saying the right thing to a bunch of would be "stoppers".. but i think it needs saying..

i am now an e smoker.. but i am just as much a nicotine addict possibly more so than when i first started..

but as they say "faith moves mountains".. dont let me knock it..

i didn't want to give up when i started e:smoking and that was 3 months on thursday.

i've never been interested in even trying to pack up the roll ups but 3 months down the road i haven't had one. if i have craved for one in stressful times over the past few months with my father being sick and then passing sadly away after a few puffs on my e:cig the craving has gone.

i know for a fact i couldn't pack up e:smoking even if i tried but then i dont want to.

where else can you gain your nicotine kick whilst tasting chocolate / strawberry / ry4 / flue cured / i could go on and on it's like having a four course meal .

i dont think i vape anymore than when i smoked real fags i still seem to stick to the same routine as i always have , a vape with a cup of tea on break times as ned keeps my nose to the grind stone .(ha ha)

Jill who is an employee always smoked menthol real fags she had an e:CIG and after 3 weeks just gave it up altogether (fags and e:cig) and she says she doesn't miss at all.

as i sit typing now i have a very nice chocolate janty cartridge topped with RY4 (bliss):):p

This is pretty much the same plan Ive got for myself and at the moment it`s going well, 11 days so far without a "hot ...". I have noticed of an evening I am smoking more constantly with the e-cig but there has been no craving whatsoever for a real one, which in past experiences of trying to give up us fantastic! It`s good at the moment as the carts I`ve got don`t really do it for me flavour wise but I`m sure if I get in to e-juice and the huge range of flavours out there I will have to surgically remove the cig from my mouth! Lower nic is the aim for me and I`ll go from there
