It will be 6 weeks for me this Tuesday that I bought my 1st PV and also had my last analog. I still go out with my friends that smoke and still sit in the smoking sections (Bars) as I used to (Yes... In Parts of Houston you can still smoke in some public places...). I try as hard as possable not to be snobby (and Im not) about people smoking, however, I do share my thoughts and experences with anyone who asks about them. Lets see... Even when I was a a heavy smoker, NEVER liked second hand smoke, it bothered the **** outta me and still does... Dont complain though. The smell of cigarettes are not plesent at all... and after I left my favorite hangout the other day... I was not to happy about the nasty ... smell of my clothes (Beer, mexican food and stale cigs). I have zero cravings for a analog and truly hope it will stay that way!

Put your eyebrow down...:D

Although it wasnt suddenly... I just kinda realized it within the last month or so.

My best,
-VP

I started smelling the difference after the first day - my smoking coworkers suddenly had a much stronger smell of cigs about them when coming back in from a smoke break.

It's been more than two months since my wife and I went to the very simple SmokeStik and we couldn't be happier with our decision. We had our last analog on the very first day we started vaping. She no longer has her morning smoker's cough and I don't have my afternoon headache from smoking too much during the day. We've kept track of the money too and we finally passed the break-even point at about eight weeks.
I use to smoke at least two packs a day and she smoked a pack a day. Where we live, that was a just about $90 every week for smokes. We have no desire to ever smoke another analog.

I feel like smokers are my brothers and sisters. I could never disown them or hate them.

I've been vaping for close to a couple months now. I still can't resist the urge to bum a real cigarette every once in a while just to prove that (1) I can if I want, and (2) even after smoking a regular cigarette I actually still prefer my vape.

Heaping scorn and derision on smokers is a serious turn-off for me. Like someone's signature on here, smokers are almost always the most interesting people at the table.

Actually since I have been vaping with vg, tobacco actually 'tastes' ok again.......it seems that the PG was the thing that made it taste really bad to me. The good thing though is that there isn't any 'craving' to smoke tobacco.
Interesting theory.

I was smoking one cigarette every morning for the first two weeks using electronic cigarettes.
Never did I expect that the cigarette would ever taste any different, but it did.

It got worse and worse every morning, although some mornings it didn't seem to taste quite as bad.

But there were definitely mornings when it tasted like ammonia, formaldehyde, and glue.
And that taste was definitely not psychosomatic.

I have no hatred for cigarettes or smokers. It is no ones fault that cigarette smoke smells so bad (except for Big Tobacco), and we only notice once we have abstained for a while.

I feel sorry for the smokers, who for one reason or another, are unable or unwilling to make the switch. I really think a lot of them think it sounds too good to be true. Most have tried the patch, gum and inhalers and it didn't keep them from going back.

The title of this thread gives us another thing to ponder. If it is true and I believe it is, no wonder Big Brother, Big Pharma and big Tobacco dont want these things around!!:evil:

I've only been vaping for like a week and a half, maybe two weeks, and i had my first cigarette since switching while having some drinks with friends. I was weirdly suprised at how unsatisfying the exact brand that i used to smoke was. The throat hit and feel of it in my lungs didnt feel right. I expected the flavor to be gross and it was. The odd thing is I've gone cold turkey before many times to try and quit, but every time i started smoking again the feel of the smoke has always been such a welcome thing. Maybe my 510 is spoiling me too much, i can get more vapor in my lungs than i can with smoke.

i'll admit, i heard about ecigs years ago on the net from some ppl, i dismissed it at first ...mostly cuz it seemed too good to be true, i assumed it would taste like crap & i was not keen on the idea of 'smoking' liquid...a bud tried it this year & i finally decided to do some googling cuz i've had it with analogs...anyways, my 510 order's been placed, wish me luck buds! :)

Yep - Me too. I accidentally quit smoking analogs three weeks ago. Honestly, I didn't mean to. When I got my first 801 pen style, I filled 'er up and that was it. AFTER 41 YEARS OF ANALOG SMOKING!! About a week ago I did go back to analogs for 24 hours because I was sick and wondered if it could be vaping that was causing the trouble. After determining that it wasn't related, I went right back to vaping. For that one day I was miserable. Analogs tasted AWFUL - and constantly ashing the thing was annoying - and the inconvenience of not be able to just take a quick puff and put it down drove me flippin' crazy. Plus, I didn't have all of these tasty flavors!!

I have not quit analogs altogether yet and have no "plans" to do so. I am the type that wants to have whatever someone says I can't. If I intend to quit smoking I won't - I know that about myself. At this point, I smoke whichever I prefer, sometimes it is an analog, sometimes it is a vape. I have several PVs and love them all for different reasons but none has been so amazing that I just put down the analogs. However, yesterday I smoked 3, today I smoked 5, and the rest of the time I vaped. This from a pack to pack and half a day smoker. Each time I smoke an analog it is less satisfying. Like some others I am surprised at the flavor (or lack their of) and throat hit (or lack their of) each time I smoke an analog. It is like my mind builds them up to be better than reality...

That said, each time I am reminded how little they do for me it pushes me one step closer to just vaping. I imagine at some point in the near future I will just get it through my thick skull that I really do prefer vaping (can we say cappuccino - yum). In the interim I am not beating myself up about it. Should I quite the analogs altogether I like to think that I will not stress those who don't, but only time will tell! I may just feel inclined to pass them a spare cart and let them chose for themselves. Sounds good to me!

I don't harbor any sort of ill will or hatred toward smokers or people who have tried to quit and haven't.

However, you can take the whole 'psychology of an ex-smoker' and stick it in your pipe and smoke it - as it were.

Bah, no matter how I try to write it, it ends up being wayyyy to long for a forum post. I don't have to prove what I'm saying anyway. The fact is that it's pretty dam obvious what is a phsycological response and what is a physiological response.

Everyone is different, and attitudes can go both ways. If people choose not to smoke anymore because of a bad reaction so be it. If you choose to keep smoking and don't have any problems with it ... then so be it! Who cares?!

Waking to a very phlegm productive smokers' cough every morning at the age of 22 was a wake up call. It actually brings to light to the horrible aspects of smoking that we have all been repetitively lectured of. That's when i realized something had to change. No other smoking cessation products have ever worked for me- Chantix, gum, patches etc. Bottom line... i just really enjoy smoking.

Then comes along e smoking/vaping. Analog free for a few days now and feel great. This seemingly much healthier alternative to smoking allows me to keep my enjoyable habit and not even consider an analog. I'm around smokers all day and I simply just prefer my 901 now. WHAT A WONDERFUL PRODUCT.
