Despite all "love" we have for e-cigs, there are indeed some unanswered questions.

To deny those would be ignorant.

That's why we need real testing done and results on paper.

Here are some of my questions where i'd like to see official tests. Its NOT only about the ingredients in the liquids!!

1) The method of heating the liquids using a metal "wick" as is the case with most standard atomizers: Are any harmful substances emitted or metal particles coming off over time, therefore inhaled??
( Please note that there is no filters in the mouth pieces...you basically inhale right from that chamber where the liquid meets the mesh, right off the glowing "atomizer" wick. )
a) If its the case that harmful metal particles would be inhaled, ultrasonic atomizers would be better alternative!

2) Still unclear about the toxicity of PG in the liquids and especially VG. I read somewhere that VG is actually bad.
Its a whole different story whats IN the liquids....and how they behave when heated and inhaled!

Don't get me wrong, i also strongly think that ecigs are "healthier" than the 4000 cancer causing ingredients in tobacco smoke - but i stil WANT to know.

It would be an irony to smoke e-cigs because they're "healthy"....just to find out that those atomizers give off some carcinogens, aka asbestos..or similar.

Just my $0.02

Very good questions! We are doing many studies right now for our products. We are currently undergoing a toxicology examination of the cartridges to see what is exactly inside of them. We are doing this not only for safety purposes, but in order to be able to make our own cartridges in the US soon!

Hey Flexy,
I totally agree with you and have looked around (in sleep deficient stupors) and have dug up some test reports. There is also the Right to vape forum/group who are working on getting some independent tests done. Some interesting stuff can be read there.

I can't post a link yet but copy this and to view the NZ report on the contents and inhalation tests of Ruyan juice. //healthnz.co.nz/RuyanCartridgeReport21-Oct-08.pdf

I've also read toxicology reports on PG. Rats and rabbits forced to inhale clouds of it for extended periods of time and what they found after examination & slicing them open. (poor critters).
If you look around you can find it.

It's still gotta be better than smoking but wouldn't mind some definitive answers. Until then I guess we'll pick up where the rats and rabbits left off.

Hey Delite,

I applaud you for running tests on your liquid.
I would also like you to run tests on the actual vapor itself.
Maybe I've missed something, but I have not seen any test data on that.

Maybe you guys could be the first ones....could be good for business ;)

Also, please be honest about the test results even if it turns out they are not good.

Peace,

-Cal

Just as a reminder that these exist (because they do seem to sink out of memory fast, or not even get into the attention and memory of newer members):

These are all related to the tests that were done in new zealand. While these tests were about Ruyan-products, and can't be simply declared valid for all e-products, they are scientific tests (that, by the way, will be peer-reviewed at a congress in Ireland this month, keep an eye out for that happening!) - tests about e-cigarettes, liquid, cartridges, the works - and 'in general' a lot will undoubtedly be similar for all e-cigs - they all use PG and make vapor for instance. So ANYONE stating bluntly in the press or elsewhere that 'no tests exist' are not telling things the way they are.

Edit: thanks Klause, you allready put up one of these links while I was typing :)
