  • I know that taste is subjective
  • I am using Cool Carts from V4L
Ok...
  • May 25th started vapeing using KR-808(?d?1?) and pre-filled cartomizers.
  • Graduated to buying juice (same flavors - lots of them - same vendor)
  • From what I understand the above mentioned juices are all from china.
  • As time went on I started "tasting" perfumey (new word?) notes that became more and more overwhelming in my existing juices and any new flavors I ordered.
  • Since the day I started vapeing I became an ECF addict and stalk the forum on a regular basis...
  • From all of the e-juice reviews etc I decided to try juices from two suppliers that make all of their juices in the US....to order (product not sitting on the shelf waiting for someone to order). Both vendors have rather large cult followings.
  • I only ordered flavors that I knew I would like (i.e. didn't order a clove flavor cause I don't like clove...even if people said they liked so and so's clove...even tho they don't like clove...)
Here (finally) is my question. Could the metallic taste that I'm getting (sometimes way overwhelming!) be from an ingredient interacting with the metal components of the cartomizer? I'm not getting it from all flavors and I intentionally tried different (brand new) cartomizers from different boxes.

Asked the one vendor if they'd ever heard that their *** flavor had that metallic taste and they said they hadn't. I really don't feel either of these vendors would be as popular as they are if others were experiencing the same issue on a regular basis.

I have seen brief comments on different threads about a juice being better on an atty than a cart (and some saying better in pt....or better at 5v...)........

Just new enough at this to be totally confused by this issue. Don't want to write off certain flavors/vendors when it could be something I'm doing and/or the type of cart I'm using.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions/comments!!

The only thing I can possibly think of is are the ones you taste the metal with a stainless colored carto?

I drip in (808) cartos and had this problem with a metal drip tip. I went to a plastic one and it went away.

that's all I can come up with for ya. Sorry.

Whewww...thanks for replying Princess...I was really worried that no one would and I haven't felt so rejected since High School:facepalm:.

I'm somewhere between newbe and rookie status and haven't even ventured into the world of "dripping" (wouldn't even know where to start).

I'm using the 808 carts that V4L calls Cool Carts (a little taller and there is also something else mechanically that makes them burn cooler) than the regular or premium carts. I think I've seen them called turbo carts from another vendor.

The presence of that taste isn't with every flavor. I've used new carts, from different boxes, from different orders.

I guess I was just hoping that someone with chemical or electrical knowledge would have insight to whether it could be certain flavorings (types or mfgs) that might interact badly with the metal components in the carts that I'm using. Maybe I should try another type/brand cart for certain flavors?

Thanks Princess....I just appreciate you taking the time to try to help!!!!

The carts I'm using have the colored wrappers on them.

I've seen the "ask the veterans" section and that will be my next stop...just thought I'd start here.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply...much appreciated!!!:toast:
