e-liquid help plz

Can anyone help me decide what density of nicotine I need to order? This is my first time so I have no clue.

My question is if my normal cigarettes say on the pack 1mg-2mg nicotine (I'm guess per cigarette?), then what does it mean when it says that the bottle of e-liquid says 6mg? In the whole bottle? so if the 4ml bottle is about 40 cigarettes, how many mg are you getting per approx 15 drags or whatever is equivelant to a normal cigarette? is it 6mg divided by 40? so that would be 0.15mg of nicotine per cigarette worth? is that how the calculation works?

If not can someone explain? I dont want to order a bunch of bottles of liquid that is too strong or too weak.
