Hi guys,

Is mg related to the nicotine level? whats the recommended mg and ml levels for one who smokes about 10 to 15 sticks of methol light analogs? My plan is to first cut down on analogs and if possible slowly reduce the nicotine levels and hopefully i can quit in the near future

I don't know about you, but I was a heavy smoker back then; 20-30 sticks a day. I started @ 12mg (nic content/ml) in Dec'11 and am still @ 12mg today. In between, I experimented @ 18 and 6-9mg. It's either too heady or no kick at all for me.

Ultimately, you should just buy a btl each of 24, 18, 12, 6. See which one suits your vaping style best. Sometimes, when you chain 24 or 18, the head rush will come in hard and fast and tt's when you know you should stop. If @ 6 or 12 feels too light on the throat for you and isn'y satisfying, at least you've known which is the best nic content to choose for your vaping style and needs.

Don't bother counting how many mgs you are taking in. Rather, pace yourself like how you would when you smoked to get a clearer picture. If you wanna gauge how much to buy, only then should you check how much you can finish in a week and multiply that by 4 and maybe some extras to tide you over till the next purchase.

A easy way to start is to see the nic content on your cigarette box and multiply by 10 round up to the next higher available mg juice.

The mg rating on the cigarette box is the average amount of nic the cigarette will yield when it is consumed. Of course these figures are obtained in a laboratory so real world values will differ.

So if you took a blood test immediately after smoking, your TSN value would probably be in the nano-grams or low micro-grams range because now the nic will be expressed as a ratio in relation to your body mass.

Thanks for the valuable tip and info domtine.

Since i smoke around 10 to 15 sticks a day depending on situation and circumstances and the mg rating is 0.8mg, the nearest value after multiplying by 15 is around 12mg, thus i will start with this level first.

Also may i ask what are the terms PG/VG ratio as these are mentioned in the forums? Thanks

Looks like 12mg is a good start, if possible i would to lower to dosage as time goes by to reduce to nicotine addiction.

Since you hover about 20 to 30 analog a day, how many bottles did you buy to last you for a week at the starting stage? Thanks. I guess thats where the ml factor comes into play in gauging how many bottles you need for a week

I guess his qns is how to not exceed the usual nic intake from analog. how not to inhale too much nic than usual. The plan is to quit smoke gradually and not get hooked with a new hobby.

Hi direwolf83,

Thats kinda true. The trouble with analogs, is that you will always want to drag on it and finish the stick to make your money worth as compared to digitals. With digitals, i guess it helps to reduce the frequencies as i will only vape it when the craving or urge comes.

I was about a pack a day and I was on 1 bottle every 3-4 days.

But it depends on your gear as well. With good gear, you tend to vape more.

I preferred 70 VG 30 PG initially but it was gunkung up my cartos too fast.

I prefer the opposite now that I have an SVD.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, I thought I read somewhere absorption is better with the mouth & nose since vapour is not as easily absorbed like smoke through the walls of the lungs?

As far, no one be really sure which will be absorped more. But the real intend at the end of the day is to reduce the amount of nicotine. Isn't that the main reason reason why we want to quit smoking.

here & now

Thanks for the link dragonl.

Since I've just switched recently, I probably need to hit my comfy spot first before gradually reducing nic levels. Yah, this was the guide I read when I noticed I was vaping more than smoking to curb my craving.

Inhalation technique with an e-cigarette

"4. E-Cigarette vapor is a water-based mist and not smoke. This has two main consequences:
a. The droplet size in vapor is ten times the particulate size in smoke (10 microns vs 1 micron). This means that cigarette smoke penetrates far more deeply into the lungs, travelling deep into the smallest passageways. Vapor cannot go anywhere near as deep, and this means that nicotine is not available so easily from the lungs, and is obtained more slowly.
b. It is likely that just as much nicotine is absorbed by the mucous membranes in the mouth and nose as within the lungs. In fact for maximum nicotine delivery, all three need to be employed: mouth, lungs, nose - otherwise all the nicotine cannot be delivered."

When I first started, 15mls lasted me abt 4-5 days. But maybe that was due to liquid wastage in the old carto tanks and maybe poor delivery. In my 1st month, I bought 6 x 15mls. Then, it gradually stabilised when I started using rebuildables the following month. I was only using around 30-40mls the subsequent months.

Hope this helps and you're on your way to quitting nic addiction! I haven't found enough desire to stop.
