E-Liquid Nicotine Levels

Hey guys I have an important question.

I just recently bought a kr8 kit and got 24 mg strength cartos and eliquid with it. My question is: how does the nicotine dosage level work?

From my understanding, a 16 mg strength eliquid equates to a cigarette but how much of the eliquid is that exactly. Does one drop or one ml of eliquid have 16 mg? how many drops makes 1 ml? and would 24 mg be too much for someone who considers themselves a social smoker? Other stuff along those lines?

If anybody can offer a good explanation (don't be afraid to go into too much detail) I will be ETERNALLY grateful. Its something thats really plaguing my mind, and although PVs are still healthier than regular cigarettes, the nicotine dosage is still a health issue.

Erowid Tobacco Vault : Info on Nicotine Content of Cigarette Brands

You can find out how many mg of nicotine you get from your brand of cigarettes there.

16mg or 24mg really means 16mg/ml or 24mg/ml - and a milliliter is about 30-35 drops depending on the dropper and the viscosity of the liquid (water can be 40+ drops per ml, while a thick goo can be 20 drops/ml).

You really shouldn't ask your question in two different forums unless necessary - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...scussion/110630-e-liquid-nicotine-levels.html

16mg liquid is 16mg per milliliter. Drop sizes vary according to the dropper in use.

I can't really address your concern about nicotine being a health issue. Smoke is what kills you, not nicotine ... that's what keeps you smoking. I smoked More Reds for more than 35 years. Most people consider that a mild smoke, and I required 36mg juice to kill the cravings. The thing is, it varies from one person to the next. How much of your habit was chemical vs. how much was physical routine? PVs are great for the physical routine.

It is a reduced risk. I don't think I've ever heard anyone claim ZERO risk, but compared to the 4,000 or so chemicals in cigarette smoke (with 5 dozen or so known carcinogens), vaping is most certainly less of a risk.

cmbenavides, It appears that your biggest concern is with toxicity of nicotine and its potential carcinogenic properties. Hopefully the following will allay your fears a bit--
Does nicotine cause cancer?

..that many prior studies and reviews have concluded that nicotine does not play a part in stimulating tumor development or growth. So for this study to claim that nicotine causes cancer is contrary to previous expert opinion.

Or my favorite--
Nicotine metabolite may improve memory, protect against disease

One recent study has found that one of nicotine's metabolites, cotinine, may improve memory and protect brain cells from diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.
...Such studies suggest that nicotine - or drugs that mimic nicotine - may one day prove beneficial in the treatment of neurological disorders.

Of course too much of anything is bad. I understand your desire to match ecig nicotine levels to prior analog use but that's very hard to do given so many variables.

Hope this helps!
