E-lites - Please don't shoot me down... I'm looking for advice!

Hi,

I've had other styles of e-cig and personally I don't like the bulkier types and prefer to use E-lite style. Ok? I'm happy, also I don't want to change brand and waste the money I've already spent. :)

I have a huge bundle of batteries, 14 at last count so battery life doesn't bother me. I don't worry about it any more than I used to worry about taking a cigarette out of the packet. I got them as a bundle at a fraction of the cost they were in the shops. But what I really want is to look into any mods that I can do or if there are any Clearomisers that are compatible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know a lot of people dislike E-Lites intensely, but I refill the compatible cartomisers myself with liquid and get on really well with my little set up.

The bad habit I have is chewing on the end which of course destroys the cartomiser! I'm wondering if anyone knows if any of the Drip tips fit nicely and possibly a clearomiser that fits the battery etc.

Thanks guys!

Sam

Based on what I can find there is not much compatible with them at all. I'm not finding much information on the threading which is what you'd need to know in order to try any clearomizers. My best guess would be 510 threading but I can't find good enough pictures to say for sure. You can always just take a chance and buy a 510 threaded clearo and see if it fits and fires. If it does, awesome. If not your only out a couple bucks. Good luck.

Also take a gander at this thread. Not sure it will help any.

Sorry to disappoint you, but according to Chrissie, who's a veteran here and an expert on all things UK, e-lites have a proprietary thread and are not compatible with anything. You'll just have to use up what you have and then, possibly, think about getting something else.

Just in case you can't open the link yet, here it is:

Hello & welcome John :)

I'm afraid nothing will help prolong the life of an e-lite battery :( They are way over priced & under perform. Plus you can't buy compatible parts elsewhere.

As Funkypunk says, you would do so much better buying an e-cig that is 510 threaded. And you would do even better if it's not a ciggie lookalike :)

Here is a list of good UK e-cig & e-liquid suppliers -

OK, well firstly...Welcome to ECF.

Next, glad you're getting off the stinkies. That's the most important thing.

Plenty of people love the cig-a-like sized PVs. If you have a stack of batteries and want to keep using them fine. They do wear out rather quickly due to having to recharge them often and their small size. However, since you rotate them around through many sets, it should work out for you.

IDK what connector is on those things. Do you? The only trick for recommending stuff is knowing what it's compatible with. Let me see if I can research it. BRB.

EDIT: Kaya to the rescue! lol. Perfect timing too. lol.

So that sucks. Not much you can do unless you want to switch to another cig-a-like with a standard connector. 808's are common. Some even have 510 connectors.

Also button or automatic? The button ones use sealed connectors. Some automatic batteries (Volt?) have sealed connectors somehow too. But many don't. If you get juice leaking into unsealed connectors they can fail.

I'm just surprised as I'm already using compatible cartomisers. I'm not crazy enough to think £20 is acceptable for 5 cartomisers that are nowhere near 40 tabs, so someone somewhere out there knows how to make something compatible and with them being sold on almost every corner I thought someone who have jumped on it by now.

I had a 510 and didn't get on with it. I've had other cheap imitations and they were crap. Also a button operated on, but it just annoyed me. I prefer the automatic style.

Also originally when I started I kept forgetting it or it'd go dead, mind you I used to do the same with cigarettes. I managed to grab a PCC for Elites during a promo and it was half price. I stuck with the E-lites as they're readily available. I left my PCC at work with my spare battery one day and all I had to do was (begrudgingly) buy a replacement kit at Spar on my way home that would last me until I got back to work the next morning.

Since getting the huge bundle of batteries, needless to say it's not an issue, I've got the charged packs stashed all over. :)

I made the choice to stick with E-lites, and if I can't get hold of couple of extra bits it's not the end of the world.

I find it works fine, looks good, and is discrete enough to be portable. I do carry 4 batteries with me everyday, one in the PCC, 2 in a case and usually one in my hand! Anyone who thinks 1 lasts a day obviously doesn't use it! :)

I know V2 makes a decent little tank for the cig-a-like batteries. check them out, they have 2 styles, the beta and the ex. one is a slip on top, the other has threads. beta are cheaper both deliver the same vape. real decent vape for dinky batteries. Check also for an adaptor to accommodate your threads to others. Should be a thread size under the the selection of batteries. So you might find something at another cig-a-like vendor. Good luck.

Hello & welcome djtink :)

The e-lite is over priced & under performs, but if you are happy with it & it has helped you convert to vaping instead of smoking, then well done :)

I have recently come across a website that is selling compatible cartomisers for the e-lite, even though the thread on them isn't compatible with anything else. However, I've not heard any feedback about that website & as it didn't conform to DSR's & ecommerce regs so I wont link to it.

You know, I just can't help myself. I have to say this. Having said what I did before.

Since cig-a-like batteries die fairly quickly due to constant charging and the strain of use on those little batteries....

You'll have to replace them over time. Have you given thought to what to replace them with? Maybe begin a transition to one with a more industry standard connector that gives you more options in the future. Not a discard or hate-on-e-lite method. Just normal replacement. But why replace with non-standard connector systems? At worst it will cost you an extra charger for the new type of cig-a-like.

Just a thought.

I tried desperately to make E-Lites work for me.

In the end, I realised it was my stubbornness and bloody minded attitude to things that was stopping me from accepting the reality.

I have used them (E-Lites) and JacVapour and eGos and mod e-cigs. It would be great if we could help you out.

If you have a job lot of them, then use them up and vape on! Enjoy. My batteries (E-Lites) do not work at all any more and I expect in the long run, you will have some serious questions to deal with. If you like them and they have been good enough to stop smoking, use them up and then move on. If you are a month in (or so), it's early days.

I never managed to quit using them. My life was pretty bad for the period I was using them. I smoked 12-15 roll-ups a day at that time and fell for the marketing nonsense...and was duly taken for a very expensive ride.

IF you like them and they work for you, things are good!! :) If things go downhill or get expensive, we're here to help.
