Anyone else experiencing ear problems after vaping?

In my 43 years of life I had never once had an ear infection or any other ear problem. After I started vaping I noticed some discomfort in my ear. Then I got an ear infection and my ear drum burst. I noticed when vaping, I used to exhale through my nose as I did with regular cigs.

Trying to figure out the possible reasons for this, I suspected that the vapor was condensing in the sinus ducts that connect to the inner ear which would cause a build-up of fluid then resulting infection? I still get some discomfort when vaping, but I have forced myself to change my vaping habits to inhale and exhale through my mouth and have not had an ear infection since.

Maybe a doctor on here can comment if this in nonsense or science?

Um, yeah, no one is going to give you medical advice on here, you need to see your doctor.

Having said that, I've seen some people complain about their ears popping when they vape. Haven't had that problem but assume it all has to do with how they draw in the vapor. Take a slow, easy draw, not a hard pull as you would with a cigarette. Susan ought to be right along with her link on how to properly vape. Sounds stupid but there is logic behind it.

Been vaping for a year and a half. Went to the doc and I did have an inner and outer ear infection at the same time. He treated it by giving me anti-biotic oral pills and anti-biotic ear drops, and he had to irrigate the ear to remove the infection.

Just want to know if any docs on here might have some insight into this, or anyone had the same problem really.

I had a painful throbbing in my ear early on. Most bothersome at night. It finally subsided. I always kind of suspected some second hand liquid that I had received with some gear I bought on the classifieds, but no way to tell. We also had to draw a lot harder on those old auto batts, so I really don't know. Too many variables.
Don't do as I do, do as I say. See a doctor.

I had the same exact problem as the OP, with the exception that I was smoking Camels and had not yet even heard about vaping. One morning my ear felt sort of weird, then progressively worsened throughout the day, and then blew out in my sleep. Blood on my neck and on my pillow, but the pain was a lot less. Went to the doctor's and he said that it's actually fairly common--not a big deal, but good that I went to see him. He gave me some antibiotics and warned me to not let water get into the ruptured ear drum.

At this time of the year, it is common to get sore throats, ear issues, sinus issues, and actually get sick. It likely is a coincidence that you had the ear problem right when you started vaping, but in any event do go get that ear checked out. I also have a tendency to blame everything on the fact that I've started vaping, but every time I have been able to logically rule out vaping as a cause. If only we had been this careful and scrutinizing way back when we tried that first cigarette. Right?

Hummm...I've been doing the 'French inhale' for almost 4 years of vaping now. Just can't do the 'Blow it out my ears trick' yet....nuts...:p. Of course sometimes I get ...... off enough you'll see smoke. lol....Actually though..I was prone to upper respiratory infection when I smoked. Vaping...huge reduction. I still have sinus issues when the seasons change going to winter. It all wants to run to my chest when I sleep which creates the infection (Doctors quote). But still..not half as bad since vaping. I also use VG only (smoother). PG was to harsh and irritating.

im no doctor either but when I was a teenager I used to smoke weed a lot and after a weekend of heavy smoking I ended up with a ear infection and went to the doctor and he actually asked me if I smoked cigs or weed because he could tell by looking in my ears, something to do with smoke breaking down the hairs in the ear that sort of work like filters. I haven't had any issues like that from vaping though.

I get sinus pressure (primarily in the right ear canal) from e-liquids which contain ingredients I'm sensitive to. I've taken it as a sign to steer clear of those liquids, and haven't had anything close to an infection. For e-liquids with no ingredients I'm sensitive to, I French inhale quite often with no apparent side effects. So my two cents, if you vape a liquid and notice sinus pressure, pick up another one.

I noticed that my ears would plug up and pop when I first started vaping. I think I was drawing too hard when I first started which was causing the issue. If this is a problem for you I suggest getting a new tank or an RDA that vaporize a larger volume of liquid giving plenty of vapor with soft easy pulls. I haven't had this issue since I first got an Aerotank and now with my RTA and RDA.
