easiest way to check 901 battery with multimeter

Do you just put (+) probe on center of battery and (-) probe on the outside of the threads? I'm thinking you shouldn't have to take it all apart and take batteries out, right?

I have no idea how you can measure an auto battery. It is not on unless you are dragging. With manual batteries I hold one lead on the center pole and one on the outer threads and press the button on the battery to turn it on.

You need to activate the air flow switch to check for voltage on an auto battery. Some folks claim that if you put the LED end of the battery in your mouth and blow into the battery the LED lights up, meaning the batt is activated. (I havent had an auto batt in a long time)

And yes, connect the meter exactly the way you described.
