I've had similar experiences, though not apparently as profound as yours. Every "510" atomizer I've bought is a bit different (some Joye and some clones).

I have 3 that are my favorites, and several others that are useful but not as enjoyable.

Some have a harder draw than my favs, some don't produce as good a taste, some don't produce as much vapor as my favorites.

While there are some simple mods that even them out a bit for me, ultimately these are not high-precision devices and variation will exist.

I have had some problems similar to yours but maybe not as dramatic as yours.

I got some clones that were not worth a dearn.

I have been using LR 510s and like them a lot. much more vapor but the flavor to me seems to lack somewhat as opposed to the reg 510 but not by much. Well worth trying imo..

Also you might try the 510 cartomizers that are good. Much more consistent. I have tried some from a couple of different suppliers nad they are very good. But I like 510s a little better.

I am using most of my 510 reg and lr 510s with a 18650 battery too that helps a lot and all seems to be going ok now.

I think overall there has been problems with these 510s being produced lately.

Hope you get some that work better.

As for joye510 atty's, I can relate.
When I first started this last Aug, I had the 2 atty's that came with the kit. Both performed great from the start. I bought about 5 more as backups. As I moved on to the backups, 3 of them performed for about a week ans then the draw was impossible. ( only using dkang tobacco flav juice , pg). Out of frustration I tried every cleaning method I could find here and each one was a mistake. lesson learned--- don't clean)
In Feb I started 2 new attys and they worked like champs from the start.
Granted, each atty is different so ( using the 'ptb made easy' cart filler) you have to get to know your attys and adjust the height of the filler or else flood city.
Just started a new atty 2 days ago and it sucked, finally threw it out and started another. ( atty's came from diff vendors)
I will assume some of the time it is me, user error in these 510 atty's, but I have found that each one is slightly different and you have to 'relearn' how to use it to make it work well, unless you get lucky and it just works great without a hitch.
I may have gotten a batch that had good ones and bad ones or maybe after 8 mths I still don't know how to figure these things out.
Worst thing about 510 atty's is the inconsistency with each new one you try.
Ready to go back to analogs but the cost and smell keeps me fighting with this 510. Guess I should just quit altogether but love my nic fix.
::sigh::

If it weren't for the atty inconsistencies of the 510, my vaping experience would be smooth sailin'. As it is, what you describe is pretty much what I go through on a regular basis. I've tried pretty much all the popular cleaning techniques listed on this forum, and none of them have transformed a poorly performing atty back to a "like new" state. And while I've only officially killed one atty since Dec. 09, I do have several that are on life support. I have just about resigned myself to the fact that if I want consistently good vaping, better keep a supply of new attys handy, and be prepared to use them.
