I just noticed the PAPs mod somebody mentioned. I dont know about you OP but this for me was an eye opener that i didnt even think of when i ordered my Maraxus and is the reason i have to send it back.
The fire button, is actually a button that you have to push into the mod with your pinky while holding the device! I grabbed the Maraxus and tried to fire it, and proceeded too drop it, i couldnt push the button in without a stab of pain they heard on the space station! The PAPs has that same setup, and a whole whack of others have that same kinda thing. I wouldnt be able too operate those mods.
I hope you understand what i am talking about, its hard to explain in words!
The PAPs switch you have too get your pinky up under the mod and push in, the Nemesis you just have to hold your pinky under the bottom of the mod and squeeze it up?? Hope that makes better sense out of this! LOL
Anyways, you may not even have the same issue i have but i hope this helps a little anyways.
Good luck
Vape On.!

Describe for me your ideal devise? Is it:
1. Lightweight?
2. Long battery life?
3. Top/Side/Front firing button - a button that does not require alot of pressure to push?

What are all the variables (from a disability standpoint) you need to consider?

In some ways I may be much like you. I've got PPMS which has basically left me with the use of 1.25 hands. No fine-tune motor skills (or strength) in my dominant hand.
Yep all of what you listed is it but with the button being best for ergonomic thumb placement while you grip the mod in your fist. The REO config would work but the square edged sides of box type mods would not. Which is why so far a vmod with rounded edges has been the best. It's just not made of durable materials and the price is too high to keep replacing. Here's link, sorry don't know how to post pictures yet. http://vapage.com/media/wysiwyg/intro-pages/landing_vmodxl.jpg

Look into the ZNA by house of hybrids. My understanding of the pains of arthritis is nothing but, this highly advanced mech med, with almost no complex parts and easily assembled, and button placement would seem to put little stress ones hands. Frankly I have seen videos with elderly people using them, stating they are there only go to device.

About the only thing the doc could still do to my hand would be to cut it off. My wrist is partially fused, the trapezium has been removed from my wrist, bottom of my thumb is lashed to the first metacarpal (index finger), and a lot of the tendons have been removed. So trust me when I say I know your pain.

What I found was the length of the PV had more to do with my ability to use it than anything else. It doesn't matter much if it's my Nemmy, or Chi, or Vela, or my Provari for that matter, an 18490 allows me to use the PV without having any pinch strength.

With the mechanicals I just rest the button on the heel of my hand, and pull the PV down with my index finger to fire it. An 18650 battery has me trying to grasp the sides of the tube instead of putting a finger on the top to do the work.

Also look at the Opus D -- it's small with rounded edges. Though I love the look of the ZNA!

My ceiling is about $180 right now for a mod. But may have to do some more saving for the right one. Some of the pipe mods look promising with perhaps a long drip tip from House of Hybrids so my arm can be at rest while holding it, as my issue is a whole arms, hands, nerve damage thing that surgery won't help at this point.

Everyone has been so very helpful...thank you all for your time and suggestions! If anyone comes across something along the lines of the ZNA or the Sidewinder House of Hybrids has that does an 18650 battery, but without the highest price tag I'd love to hear about it, as I have lots of 18650s in my collection already and find their time between charges lacking. Thank you all so much!

Depending on how much you can move your hand, and how much weight, a pipe mod might work. I have a k1000 pipe and the button is easy to press, but might be difficult for you to open the battery compartment because there are little indents to give you a grip to open it.

Uhm. Maybe a side button mod?

The zna looks just perfect but the price and availability...yikes! Might have to look for clones of that one.

I know the price is steep but I assure you if you are well to do off, than that is money very well spent. You will have the device you are looking for with low maintenance, extremely easy set up, and argueably the most desired product on the market and for very good reason. The ZNA is all i could have ever wanted out of device in all honesty.
