My DIY shipments all came in today and I feel so overwhelmed! Im looking for some recomendations that won't overly confuse me :)

So I figured I would start with a 50/50 pg/vg base to start and adjust it once I figure a good flavoring to compare with. I do not plan to use any Nic - might add some later on down the road for friends when I find some yummy mixes. I bought a few flavor sample packs from TFA so I can mess around before buying big. Here are the flavors I have:

Mountain dew type flavor
Kiwi Double
Juicy Peach
Ripe Banana
Green Apple
Papaya
Lychee
Raspberry (Sweet)
Blueberry (Wild)
Strawberry
Boysenberry
Black Cherry
Blackberry
Lemonade

I also have some EM, sour flavor and Koolada. Any straight flavors that are really good or fun mixes??? Any recomendations would be great!!! I am just looking for some practice in mixing before I go exploring flavors on my own. Thanks again

I just started DIYing too and feel very overwhelmed too. I made the initial mistake of taking on all sorts of crazy recipes without really knowing what I have to work with. The result was a whole lot of brew that tastes like socks at best. My advice would be to make a single flavour juice out of each of the flavorings to get an idea on how they taste and get the flavour percentage just right for you.

Next step is to mix stuff up then. I am playing around with mixing the single flavour juices in a small tank now while dreaming of coming up with a brilliant mix. I am learning a lot from this I find.

I can see you have a lot of fruit flavours. I have tried fruit flavours with and without EM and the difference a little EM makes is amazing. I wouldn't use it for tobacco, but it brings out a lot of nice in fruit.

There are a number of sites out there with recipes - I like this one for not having 300 different colors and gifs: http://....................

I'd suggest listing who the flavor is from for each of your flavors. (FA = Flavourart, TFA = The Flavor Apprentice, etc.)

There's often a big difference in strength of the various juices. I'd suggest going to the manufacturers site and reading on each flavor. For example, if you had some FA strawberry, I like that at 3%. If you have Capella, then I like it at 15 to 20 %.

I'd suggest mixing in small batches (3ml), and single flavors to start. Most of the flavors you have listed don't require steep time imo, so you should be able to get to something you like fairly quick.

Thanks for the replies! I did mention the sample packs were from TFA, there are about 3 extra flavors beyond the samples, but they are all from TFA.

I guess I'll start on some straight flavors to get the % I like down, as suggested. Still very interested in some easy mixes if anyone has ideas!

Start with one flavor and start at a low percentage of flavor. It's much easier to add flavor than remove it. The flavors you have won't require any steeping. Give the bottle a good shake and let sit in a cup of hot tap water for 10 minutes or so. Give it another good shake. Dripping is the easiest and most practical way to test your DIYs.
