I found it very hard to clean the threads on the charger because the plastic case surrounds them. It can be done but it is difficult. What I did was take out the 2 screws that hold it together and removed the inner circuit board. This is very easy and everything comes right out. I then snapped the two plastic case pieces back together and used my dremmel tool with sandpaper attachment to sand the end down that cover the threads of the connector. Put everything back together and done. The first picture is original and 2nd picture is after modification. This makes it very easy to clean the threads with a q-tip or whatever. If you don't have a dremmel tool than you can probably use a block of wood and sandpaper. Happy vaping!!!
