hi all,
me and a few colleagues at work have decided to stop smoking and found the e cig to help us quit whilst still getting our nicotine hit.
We bought a couple of the e cigs from ebuyer and within 20 minutes of recieving them one of them stopped vaping? altogether - it appears the metal bit (vaporiser ?) stopped working.
now the second one has started performing badly as well, when you take your first "hit" you get a good drag but subsequent drags get less and less vapour and the end gets very hot.
i can only assume i am maybe using it incorrectly or the unit is just bad.

can anyone throw some advice on how to get the most out of them?

many thanks

Reggy, it does sound like the first vaporizer has died if it's not heating up or producing any vapour.

As for the vapour production with the other one, are you trying to smoke it like a "normal" cigerette and taking strong drags off it?

vaping is a bit different, you get better results by drawing slowly and gently for quite a bit longer than you would with a real ciggy...

deschain, yes initially i was trying to "smoke" the dam thing :) but after a few goes i found it worked better taking long draws but still it just isnt right.

i think i may buy a different type any suggestions with battery life and a good vapour?

I don't know what model you've bought (and I am no expert anyway). But the best way to get consistant vapour is to top off the cartridge with fresh smoke juice/e-juice every now and then.

Did you just get a kit with the cig and some pre-filled carts?

I am using a 510/Titan, I fill my own carts, I find it is good for me, produces plenty of vapour and it got me of the evil cancer sticks, so I am well pleased with it.

Where are you based...it'll be easier for folks to give you a few options and places to buy from if we know where you are (I assumed the UK when you mentioned ebuyer, but they might have a US site for all I know).

No worries, I can only recommend the unit I'm using, I've no experience with anything else...If you go to these folks...

Electronic Cigarette e-liquid / Totally Wicked e-Liquids / Electronic Cigarette e-liquid shop

and order the "510/Titan EN-I" kit for £44.99 you will be well set up (you get two batteries, two atomizers, a charger and ten cartidges of varying nicotine strength which you can refill yourself once they are used up.

(there are several other kits of varying price and content if you don't wish to pay that much).

You'll need juice if you want to refill your own cartidges (you'll save a fair bit of cash this way), totallywicked do sell that as well, but I use these folks...

mistEliquid - the e liquid finest vape for the finest price

They have a decent selection of flavours and strengths for fair prices, I'm happy with them anyways.

Hi reggy, welcome! I'm a newbie who has crammed alot of research into my 30 days free from ciggs (what the forum members call analogs)...if I only knew THEN what I know NOW! I was a pack & a half/day smoker and still loved smoking but knew I should quit...off I went. So first off you and your colleagues should be prepared for a good amount of maintenance, vaping is a whole other wonderful world! Initially I thought "well I don't see myself doing all THAT"...(filling, cleaning, mixing flavors and nicotine juice, "dripping") nor wanting a non-cigg looking device like a piece of pipe or a box ("mods"). Not being sure the e-ciggs would work for me I started out conservatively with GreenSmoke (NOT advised and BEFORE I found this forum) and was able to go without smokes for the first time! Fast forward... I am anxiously waiting for that piece of "pipe" highly recommended by others, the "Chuck" with hopes to order the Silver Bullet as soon as they are back in stock. Reason: supposed LONG battery life (2-3 days) and excellent vape, using atomizers from another e-cigg that I like, the "510". I have been lucky in that I only destroyed my GreenSmokes (after having a decent amount of user enjoyment) by topping off the nicotine cartridges too much and flooding out them and my batteries!!! I did not care for the kit anyway and by then had gotten the 510. I LOVE the 510 (and it is well recommended) but for the short battery life..I then ordered the "DSE801 penstyle" for longer battery life (it was, but still not enough) and tried "dripping" because the cartridges always had to be "topped off" frequently anyway! Have I lost you yet??? Now I LOVE dripping, wastes less e-liquid, better vapor and taste. A couple drops on the atomizer and I get a cigarettes' worth of nic! For evening vaping at home I use less nicotine because I vape quite often and now was looking to have fewer battery changes...I always have batteries charging at work and home and until I ordered extras (A MUST) of the batteries and atomizers for my 510 I was PARANOID I'd have to go back to analogs!!!! I no longer want/care an e-cigg that looks like the real thing, just want a long lasting vaping machine! I am NOW doing (and am really into it) what I thought I'd NEVER do...all the above...it's become my new hobby! I was horrified at myself at first as I ordered more and more stuff and kept experimenting...leftover from my drug use days I suppose (!)
I would recommend the 510 if you want a conservative piece for work or in general but order the PCC (personal charging case) and backup batteries and atomizers (I have been lucky with mine but other's hardware occasionally fails fairly quickly). I think the 510 is a workhorse and people have had more good results than bad. Battery life is just too short...The most conservative "mods" IMO where you use atomizers from other e-ciggs and use bigger batteries for longer lasting use that have good reviews are IMO the "Chuck", the "Protoge" ... the Silver Bullet is pretty cool looking. All these are either made to order (Chuck) and you'll wait a bit for them (have batteries and charger ready, they don't come with it), or are on back order or out of stock but hang in there...in the meantime try the 510 & PCC, with spare parts and E-liquid for topping off cartridges or "dripping". I just LOVE the world of vaping, am so happy to be away from the nastinest and health ruin of cigarettes...read this forum, take copious notes...you'll "settle in" and get a routine...hope this lengthy response helps!!! Enjoy the journey!!

Quit playing with the e-cigs that look like real cigs and get a protege from
puresmoker.com
Get the kit and some xtra atomizers and I PROMISE!!!! you will be a happy smoker

I am not affiliated with puresmoker in any way, just a very happy owner of 2 protege`s. One for me and just got my wife one.

No more analog cigs and we are both haaaapppy campers.

Reggie,

Don't waste anymore of your money on the second rate e-cigs that are out there and just purchase the vapor4life kit. This will last you forever and smoke the best out of all of them. The KR808D-1 is a very proven system now and nobody I have spoken to or on this site has anything bad to say about them. Just go to vapor4life.com the owner Steve also has the best customer service and backs up everything he sells when it comes to his merchandise....!

I flirted with getting one of them. :)

You will need...

1: Two or three extra atomizers (they are consumables and will only last from anywhere inbetween a few weeks to a few months)

2: some "blank/empty" cartridges (10 will keep you going for ages).

3: some e-liquid/smoke juice

That should set you up nicely...if you can completely pack in smoking and purely use you Jantystick, you should expect to spend around £20-£30 a month on smoke-juice and replacing atomizers every now and then...the health benefits are priceless though IMO.

Good luck!

10ml won't last you long (maybe a week or so)

I get my juice from www.misteliquid.co.uk

£5 per 10ml, available in 18mg or 24 mg strength

There is also the sister site to where you got your JS from...

iVapour Elixir | PG E-Liquid ? VG E-Liquid ? Cartridges ? Spares | For all electronic cigarettes or e-cigs

There are many other sites that sell this stuff...

vapefree - Welcome

ECIS Electronic Cigarette

E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings

I'm vaping some RY4 right now...luverly stuff! :p

The only thing is to try and clean it (blow it out from the battery end, maybe even try rinsing it with some really hot water and allowing it to dry out for a day or so), but if it is actually *dead*, it is dead for good!

And yeah, the initial lay out for this gear is a bit steep in a one off payment, but you seem to have taken to it, so if you give up smokes and stick with vaping, you will save money eventually, and the health benefits are worth it alone IMO.

so it arrived and im well pleased!

my janty stick gives nice vapour compared to the ebuyer cigarette - it has worked consistently all day - charged in a very short time (took 3 hours for the ebuyer one to charge) and the battery hasnt been charged since (6 hours occasional use) compared to the 10 minutes poor battery performance of the ebuyer one.

my only issue was i ordered some extra atomisers but they dont :( my lack of knowledge on what the numbers mean 901 & 801 was probably why i didnt realise so they are going back for an exchange.

i have ordered 10 small sample juices to try out - this ryo4 stuff is just too sweet.

so i would like to say a big thank you to you all for helping me out,the reviews and peoples opinions helped me choose what i think is the ecigg i should have chosen originally!!

thanks again all!!

vaping whilst i type this :) and vaped all day in the office which was fun :))
