ECBlends - Good, Bad, Or Just Average?

So, I came across this site either on the forums or during a Google search days ago.

Site: ECBlend E-Liquids - Something Better

I took a quick look at their flavors, found their prices to be pretty cheap (newbie vapers, be aware you get what you pay for), and that they had quite a large selection of flavors. Last night my friend was here (he's the guy who got me to switch from analogs), and for giggles I brought up ECBlend's website so I could show him just how varied e-juices can be. While there, I noticed a link to their "novelty" juices, and what a list it is! Note: some of the below items may sicken you by reading!

  • Bacon
  • Black Pepper
  • Butter
  • Carrots
  • Crab Legs
  • Cucumber
  • Dill Pickle
  • Ginger
  • Kettle Corn
  • Mitch Morgan Whiskey Shot (Whiskey and Bacon)
  • Pizza
  • Popcorn
  • Roast Beef
  • Roast Chicken
  • Smoky Black Pepper Bacon
  • Sweet Potato Casserole
  • Tomato Soup
  • Worcestershire Sauce

At the top of the Novelty E-juice Page is this warning:

Quote
"Different, odd, unique, and just plain weird

NOTE: Flavors that are available in only 5ml sizes are limited to prevent customers from ordering large sizes on flavors that are novelties. If we get enough positive reviews on any of these, we will open the larger bottle sizes.

NOTE: (On SOME of the Novelty flavors): The same as above on Extra and Double Extra options, they will be limited until we get enough positive requests.

WARNING: Order a 5ml to try before ordering a large size. You have been warned."
/End Quote

All funning aside, has anyone ordered any juice from this
company, and what were your thoughts?

Ecb was one of my first purchases and I did find one juice I must have and can't find anywhere else.

Like most newbies I was hunting for a decent tobacco replacement and ordered 7 or 8 of their various tobaccos, a couple of the coffees, and some other bakery type flavors. I knew nothing, especially about steeping. Those juices are now well over 4 months old and all but a couple are still unvapeable. I use one they call "darkness" to mix with dekang 555 and dk tab and it makes a very nice tobacco vape. Like most vendors, the product reviews can be misleading and unreliable as far as the flavors go. Most of the tobacco ones taste like vegetables more than tobacco. Maybe with a hint of spare tire air.

Their shipping is on the slow side, usually not leaving their site for 4 or 5 days. They do carry a fair amount of hardware, and the quality seems good, and IF you find any flavors you like, the prices are reasonable.

They actually state on the homepage that there is a 4-5 day processing time. This is rather nice of them, because a lot of sites don't say anything about that, and your left wondering just how long it takes to get things moving. I do plan to order some of their "crazy" flavors for giggles, but I expect that a long steeping time will be required.

I use to order quite a bit from them but I had switched to another vendor. I was disappointed with one of my orders, and after being a steady customer for some time I felt they should have sent me a new bottle, but that wasn't going to happen. They had wanted me to return the batch so they could test it, but I had already flushed it. I forget what it name was, maybe Cuban Gold. But I had really liked that flavor, was accustomed to the flavor, and it's disappointing when you get something that tastes completely different than what you expect. I know quite a few people that do order from them and haven't had any problems or issues. I remember their Ruyan 4 was really good.

I'm awaiting an order from them right now; I ordered one with a numerical name, as it was a customer creation, "N7115" which they described as "strong tobacco with a light cigar taste" which I thought was worth trying since a lot of folks have told me that my VA slims smell like cigars. I also ordered "Dirty Ashtray," which is described and mostly reviewed as being the closest thing possible to a real burning cigarette -- and after reading the thread here about naturally extracted tobacco, and their comments RE: "tobacco absolute", I think might be useful to me as a smoker trying to find something at least somewhat familiar; a security blanket, if you will. I will definitely post when I get them, because I know I'll be trying them right away, nevermind the disclaimer that they all get better with 1-2 wks steeping.

I'm also considering one of their black tea flavors, as I love that tannic bitter taste, but I don't know for sure if they offer an unsweetened variety.

What I really love best about Ec Blends, better than all others I've looked at, is the ability to customize the PG/VG proportion, and other little tweaks you can give the flavors at ordering time -- and definitely, those small 5mL bottles for $2.50 so you can try some stuff without going broke!

ECblend had a flavor once called Rough Rider which was supposed to I think be a 'roll your own' tobacco flavor vape. As soon as I tried it I first thing I though of was dirty ashtray, and I thought it was a pretty decent vape. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the flavors are the same as prior ones with just a name change. I typically vape 100% PG, but for some reason ECblends 100% PG never really produced much vapor for me and I found myself ordering mostly at 80/20. I had spoke with Jason several times on the phone and their customer service is top notch. Once when I was weening myself off of 36MG, I was ordering similar flavors of 50 ML, one bottle at 36MG and the other at 24MG to mix. I had bobbled my orders once, had called them and mentioned my mistake and they fixed the problem for me before the order was shipped. Like I said, top notch service. I would probably still be a steady customer if it wasn't for that one time I felt the batch was way off. I'm glad it was only a 15ML instead of the 50s I typically would order.

I really like their Coffee Inspirations flavor. It's coffee with apricot. ECBlends was one of the first places I ever ordered from when I started vaping as I was attracted to the ability to buy a ton of different flavors in tiny bottles to see what I might like. Most of the others were pretty unmemorable. I don't like any of the Dragon's anything.

I finally got the 2 I ordered from EC Blends, and I'm pretty happy with both of them. Mind you, these are initial impressions, and they do both say "best after steeping," so they'll probably both get even better.

1) Dirty Ashtray: I had high hopes for this one, since I am still smoking, and I thought this might be a good "bridge" for me, to make the switch. It's not bad at all, and frankly doesn't taste like any kind of ashtray to me, though yeah, it's a little smoky, but not in a bad way; though someone who hasn't smoked in a while might find it disagreeable; the smell of the juice itself, as you're filling the tank, is definitely a bit smoky. But, it's also a little sweeter than I had thought it would be; there seem to be notes of maple, maybe graham crackers. If you're a marlboro smoker trying to switch to e-cigs, this might be a really good choice (I always found Marlboro pretty sweet). Really good throat hit! (I ordered with a 70% PG/30% VG blend).

2) N7115: Awesome! This is one of ECB's customer creations, touted as "strong tobacco with a hint of cigar" -- is that what that sharp taste is? Maybe I need to be looking at cigar flavors, then! Seriously, this has almost ZERO sweetness (YAY!) and a definite sharp edge to it (again, YAY!). Again with the 70% PG/30% VG blend, but the throat hit is a bit on the soft side. I will definitely re-order this one, and next time, try it with 80% PG/20% VG blend, to try and improve the throat hit, because this one is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Until I can re-order and get the higher PG, I may try a drop or two of the Dirty Ashtray in it, to improve the throat hit, and for that slightly smoky taste.

Although both of these were 70% PG/30% VG blend, the amount of vapor is very good for both. I am much happier with both of them, ESPECIALLY the N7115, than with the Oak Barrel Cider pipe sauce I got last week. After steeping, if my opinions change, I'll definitely post it, but I think they're both pretty good, for those trying to find something to substitute for actual cigarettes.

Just my :2c: ...
