On Thursday December 15th ECCA held its first open meeting. In future, as much business as possible will be conducted in these open meetings, and as little as possible in committee.

The meeting took place in ECR's Chatroom, which has 50 seats for video and audio. Many thanks to Scott and Fiona of ECR for organising it. It was attended by ECCA members, community members, and trade reps.

The entire meeting was devoted to questions from the community about ECCA - its role, consumer affairs issues, and the threats to vaping.

Questions were asked about:
What was ECCA doing?
Is it going to issue a Seal of Approval to vendors?
What criteria would be used?
Could vendors trading illegally receive approval?
What did the Sale of Goods Act entail?
What was the UK situation with regard to the MHRA?
What about Europe?

It was stated that a Seal of Approval would need to be voted on by the membership, before any individual factors could be decided.

ECCA's position was clarified and an opportunity was given for people to join and help.

The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday 8th January 7pm at ECR:
Community Chat 7
- create an account and login to the open ECCA room.
You can listen to the meeting, and if you have a headset (or a laptop with cam and mic) you can take part by voice, with video if wanted, otherwise questions can be typed in text input mode.
