I was just wondering what you all had to say about this. Would you consider the E-Cig more of a route to quite smoking all together, or a simple alternative to smoking?

I was not a heavy smoker at all when I started vaping. I loved smoking but just knew it was bad for me so I tried to only smoke one or two cigs per day. When I found vaping my habit went up a ton simply because it isn't as bad, and I generally feel better doing it. So for me, I didn't start vaping to kick any sort of habit...it's almost as if I started vaping to fulfill a habit i wanted to have!

What do you think?

Hmmm. That's interesting. Well, I always said that I would never quit. I enjoyed smoking too much. What I didn't enjoy was the continued risk to my health. I tried Chantix, but failed after 6 days. I never tried anything else because I knew that a pill, patch, or piece of gum was not going to make me not want to smoke. What I needed was something that was nearly IDENTICAL to smoking but without all of the harmful side-effects. As soon as I found the e-cig, I knew I would finally have a chance to quit.

I just wanted a healthier way to get my nicotine, which I find a beneficial drug in my life. Since I've been vaping after quitting my almost 2pack/day analog habit I actually feel healthy for once.

Now that I'm in better shape, can breathe, smell, taste, I know I can focus on the good that I was missing and really appreciate it. That could help me to quit later on in life if I ever decide nicotine is hurting my life in some way by altering my behaviors too drastically.

I'm doing like you, vaping alot more than I smoked. MAinly because I can, I can do it in the house, no smell, all the other reasons. Its actually something I'm concerned about since I vape so much.
I took it up as a means to help stop smoking and it worked for me. I'm sure it is different things for different people. I probably would never have even tries to quit without vaping even though I was not a heavy smoker.
Only once did I quit ever quit and it was by using Chantix, was able to stop for 3 months.
Which makes me curious why it didn't work for you after only 6 days. The instructions said you could continue smoking for up to a week, took me two weeks before I stopped.

The question I always get when they see my ecig is...'Are you trying to quit smoking?'

And I tell them that I already quit smoking. It is true that an ecig can really help you quit smoking, but what about quitting vaping?

I'm at the point where I could quit vaping all together, but I won't because it's fun and yes.... it did help me quit smoking, but for someone to ask me now that if I use it quit smoking....thats the wrong question, because I already quit last August.

But I guess the answer to that question would be....Yes, last year it did.
