Here's an update taken from the legislation news subforum Legislation News:
I got the call from Tom Burditt(R) while driving to the Vermont State House this morning. He was very happy to inform me that all the calls, emails, and written testimony had made a big impact on the decision to eliminate section 9 from H.747. We have and will continue to make a difference by making our voices heard. I would personally like to thank everyone for their support, especially Greg Conley for all his effort and coordination. I found it strange that Tom Birdett assumed that the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society, who were one of the few allowed to testify, were there to support the bill. He had assumed they were on our side. When I explained to him that $365,00 had been given to ASH and The American Legacy Foundation(Anti-smoking lobbyist) by Pfizer in 2009, he started getting the picture.

Again, thank you to everyone in this wonderful community! I am ashamed to say that I haven't been a bigger part of this forum and I do intend on changing that.

I would also ask everyone to check out CASAA News

Nope -- mostly Big Pharma and the Professional Anti-tobacco-And-Anything-That-Might-Resemble-Its.

You might be shocked at the vigorous activism of so-called "health" lobbyists (American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, etc.) against e-cigarettes.

It speaks volumes. If we follow the money trail, it certainly leads us through the smoke and mirrors of the "health" organizations.
