Hey, I've been smoking for 30 years. Worked in tobacco shop during college, loved smoking a pipe with vanilla based pipe tobaccos, and basic virginias. But cigs are so much more convenient and I've not touched a pipe in probably 15 years. My regular smokes are Camel Turkish Gold, about 1/2 pack a day. I've tried patches and stuff and never stay quit for long. So a friend of mine told me about Vapor4Life, and I ordered their PCC kit, Wow Cowboy and Wowbacco carts in 18mg Was a bit overwhelmed about eCigs, and thought I had a handle on it till I found this forum! WOW indeed!

Anyway, I've been vaping all day, and so far I think I like wowbacco better. Is it a nutty flavor I'm detecting? The cowboy stuff is closer to "unflavored" tobacco, but tastes a little funky. Both of them are more "round" in flavor than what I like. I think I prefer a more tart/acrid taste. One of my favorite import cigs was McDonalds (blue pack, girl in scottish garb on label). I don't even know if they make it any more but it was a pure Virginia tobacco. I also really enjoyed Drum hand rolling tobacco. The way I smoke is to draw into my mouth first, and then inhale, if that makes a diff. I guess what I miss most is the smell of the smoke from a real cig lingering. I'll probably get used to it.

Anyway, my "wishlist" over at v4l.com currently has Dunhall, French Pipe, Camel, Hilton (what does THAT mimic?), Virginia and the Coffee Shop sampler (I love black coffee too BTW). Anyone have any comments on these given what I've told you so far?

Also, I'm learning about refilling carts, and have been looking at V4L's nobacco USA juice. No.7 is at the top of my list based on what I'm reading, with Aces & 8's and Gunslinger tied for second, but I really don't know much more about any of those three than their marketing write up. Any advice on these three too?

Thanks!

Welcome Plarkin , I'm afraid tastes are totally subjective . I might love a juice , but you may hate it . The flavors you picked sound good , but there are a lot of different vendors out there , selling juice . Maybe try some sampler packs from several of them , before you decide whats great , and what's not so great . The stuff you don't like , you can sell in the classy's or use the PIF forum and give it to someone in need . Good luck in your journey .

The WOW Tobacco Shop sampler would be good to try as well as the other tobacco samples.
WOWBacco and WOW Vanilla are my two main juices.

Camels have Turkish tobacco so look for juices that are a modified wat to spell Camel (like Kamel, Camtel, etc) as well as Desert Ship juices (I vaped FreedomSmokeUSA Desert Ship for a while). Desert Ship is nutty and a bit pungent and many think the aroma is like a freshly opened pack. I found it a bit too pungent/tobacco-smell for work and was also not allowed to vape that one in the car. For slim ecig cartos I only use PG w/ 20% or less VG. I can feel even 30% degrading the drag and it seems to make cartos not least as long. I can get 7 days of moderate use out of a KR8 carto like a V4L or Bloog carto. I also avoud juices that drop flavoring sediment.

Also check the prefilled cartos and juices at Bloogplanet, SmokelessImage and Halocigs and I recommend you try the Bloog or SI blanks - nice cartos. I think a couple of them have a sampler pack of tobaccos.

From what I've read, never tried it, but I think the Dunhall would mimic Dunhill cigarettes. *sigh* So many other things from Dunhill I would have preferred it to be.... lol

Hilton (what does THAT mimic?)

Hilton, to me sounds like it might be the Altadis 'Maple' pipe tobac. If memory serves, I think it was a Burly with a bit of Virginia in it. I tried it, but I never reviewed it. I can't for the life of me remember who made it before Altadis took it over, but it was one of the old 'classic' drugstore blends.

You mentioned that you liked Virginias. Straight VA? That's pretty available. Or did you like stuff like Escudo, Three Nuns, Stokkebye Navy Flake etc. with a bit of Perique? Several of the e-juice places offer Perique, though I have yet to find a VA/Per combination - might have to mix it at home by combining two flavors.

Would love to know what French Pipe ends up tasting like. Just from the name, I would guess maybe French Quarter, by Sutliffe? Hope you get some and post about it! :p

V4L is a really great site, although sometimes they are out of stock, which can be frustrating. Sometimes, they will send free cartos, which is awesome. Take advantage and try those. Once you find your fave, make sure you keep plenty on hand to get you through those times when they may not have your mg level in stock. My husband LOVES the WOW Wowboy, but if you fancy vanilla, this may not be your solution as it actually has a hint of chocolate and peppermint. When my Mom, who started vaping a little over a month ago, tried it she said it tasted like burnt chocolate but like I said, it is my husband's absolute all day vape. I ordered him some WOW Cowboy, which he does not like as well but keeps in reserve for when we cannot get the Wowboy. I never smoked menthols but I LOVE the WOW Peppermint. I am awaiting the delivery of some of their USA Peace Peppermint which I cannot wait to try. Good luck in your search and keep us updated on what you find. Always looking for something new to sample. :vapor:

Check out BlueMist Vapor. They have a HUGE selection with 250+ premade juices and 250+ flavors for DIY. Their prices are great ($5 for 10ml, $10 for 30ml) and they offer sample packs so you can try a bunch. You would prob like their Vanilla Tobacco. Their Robacco is a good tobacco flavor and they have a new flavor called Honeysuckle Tobacco that I got a free sample ofand its surprisingly really good. Not flowery or perfumey and not overly or sickening sweet. Very refreshing.
If you want a good coffe flavor I would try their Cafe Caramel. It is really freakin good. Good coffee favor with a great creamy like caramel taste on the exhale. I always vape that in the morning.
If your looking for a Virginia tobacco flavor I would try Backwoods Brew "Virginia". Its pretty good and they also have a bunch of other good tobacco flavors that a lot of people like
