I spent 15 years hopelessly addicted to Adderall's big brother. It almost took my life; most certainly changed my life down to my core. I've spent the last 9-1/2 years recovering from the abuse. But I will never be the same mentally or physically again. My addiction started with Adderall then to Desoxyn, and then on to the "real thing". The speed is not doing anything for you BUT your brain is convened that it is. It's the nature of the drug. It creates a chemical release (dopamine) in the brain and falsely tricks you into believing that you are performing better when in fact you're probably performing at a lower level than you would without it.

Anyway.... I'll get off of my soap box. This isn't the forum to discuss this.

Oh.... and I didn't think I was an addict for the first ten years either, then I spent the next five years telling myself "this is the last time"...... only to re-up again just as soon as I was out. "Got a busy week. I can't crash now!! I'll quit this weekend" LOL..... then the bag got empty and I'd make the call again.........

It took many months locked up in an inpatient facility, 3000 miles from home for me to quit and stay quit.

Yes, I'm passionate about the subject, sorry. Actually, I'm not sorry at all

Welcome and all that. :D

First of all, everyone is different, and depending on the amount of damage one has done to the body, time of tobacco induction, blah, blah blah,

the body needs time to adjust. after 30 years of smoking 1.5 pad, when switched, I noticed an immediate reduction of flem and nasty crap expulsions when going to vape. But the body still goes through a cleansing and healing time, where things can be, who the frak knows, and one needs time to stabilize, and get on the path.

As long as one isn't getting defective vape, over nic'ing, vaping the groove, so to speak, need to chill back and listen to what the body is telling ya. Finding ones preferred juice ratios and nic levels, is one of the most frustrating and prime directive issues to resolve. Once juice is found, everything else quickly comes into enlightenment. or something like that:lol::D

Vape long and Prosper.!!!!!

I don't understand why people who don't actually need adderall take it. There are people like me with severe ADHD who are actually helped by it, when we remember to take our medication. People who don't need it just give ADHD drugs a bad name. I've had an actual diagnosis for 30 years now and have been on and off medication. I've tried drugs, diet, behavior modifications, you name it. Right now adderall works best for me, but people who abuse it make the general public think everyone does. If you don't have an ADD/ADHD brain it really won't help you.

I agree 100%.
My daughter is severely ADD and she can't function without the meds. Me on the other hand.... I was just a speed freak!

I'm not saying those who genuinely need medication shoukdnt take it, but how many can simply solve health problems through diet and exercise? A lot is my guess. Several years ago my doctor gave me the choice of a diet and excercise or a handfull of pills the rest of my life. I quit smoking and lost 50 lbs through eating right and excercise.

Completely agree there. Taking a pill because you too lazy to do what you need to do drives me up a wall. I'm floored by how many kids use ADD/ADHD drugs to skate through college with the least amount of effort.. They'll have a rude surprise when they get shoved out into the real world.

I don't blame the kids--I blame the parents. This rat race that starts in kindergarden, the piano lessons, the ballet lessons, club sports, beauty pageants. SAT boot camps, the AP classes, the hysteria about getting into the best school... It's insane what we're doing to our kids. They have no childhood anymore, they don't get to run around and play games and just hang out--everything is controlled and structured and there's no time for anything else in their lives but rat race. Kids are depressed, they binge drink, do drugs, commit suicide, they constantly feel inadequate--don't get me started.

Well, you just wound me up. Thanks a heap. :grr:  I'm so glad I grew up in a time when you were allowed to play in the mud and get a shiner without a lecture because you removed your training wheels to early. If you cracked your head open, it was your fault, not that of some manufacturer you could sue. I believe it used to be called taking responsibility for yourself.

Good advice but I think the OP is just using smoking/vaping/prescription narcotics simply to get an edge during finals. At least the OP is vaping instead of smoking now (congratulations, OP). As far as the phlegm goes, likely a result of going of the cigarettes and not drinking enough water. Something we've all done. Drinking a lot of water, the Adderall will dehydrate you too I believe, and waiting for your system to recover is about all you can do.

I hear you my friend. I've been there too.

"This, no I only do this on special occasions."
"No, just on the weekends"
"No, just to help me get through the day"
"No, I did not steal your TV....."

I wasn't aware this would bother so many people. I do have ADHD, I just don't want to live a life on pills so I only take them during finals.
I had never been vaping while simultaneously taking adderall, which is why I asked.

And to everyone telling me that I'm tricking myself into thinking I'm smarter, that's not the case. It helps me focus. It's not supposed to be a shortcut.

I misunderstood and I apologize--I thought you were just popping pills, like many students do, unfortunately, just to improve your performance on tests.
