Ecowool Fraying

I'm loving the microcoil and the Ecowool in the AGA. Thing is da bomb. However is there any way to keep the top end from fraying? I did a search, didn't come up with much. Super glue perhaps?

I always torch my ekowool before I cut it for a wick - helps to stop the fraying

Try heating it up real good with a torch. I read that somewhere and it does seem to help although I find the Ekowool is a little stiff afterward.

I'm assuming you only do this to the top end where it sticks out of the coil?

I do the length of the piece I'm working with. Burns off yuk you don't want there and also helps when you go to cut it......
