l have been really liking the EcoPure I got with my 510. Only problem is that it needs topping off with a lot of fluid left in the cart. Maybe it's because EcoPure is made with VG and so is fairly thick. Anyone have any ideas how I can get more than 4 drops at a time without needing to top off? I am actually getting less from my 510 cart than my RN 4081.

Pull the poly out, rinse it, pat it dry on a paper towel, then pinch the poly on both long sides (takes both hands) and pull the poly apart, not enough to pull it completely apart, but to thin out the middle "core" of poly a little. Then gently stuff it back into the cart and fill. Sounds like your poly is too tight for this juice and not allowing any airspace for the wicking action. You could also use the tea bag fill method, it works awesome for any type of juice Ive tried so far...JC, NuVape, and Heavens. Hope this helps.

Sorry for the back to back post, I still cant edit my own posts :(. Ive actually experienced what you are, with every type of juice Ive tried on the 501. First couple hits are heavenly, then tapers off significantly, leaving plenty of juice in the cart. I was actually removing 25% of the poly and putting back into the cart to increase airspace. This worked ok, but tea bag fill is the way to go. Straw method didnt do squat for me except increase the plastic taste, but the tea bag fill has made me appreciate the 510 much more now since I dont have to top off for every session and using all the juice. Awesome throat hit and taste every time, not just the first few hits from a newly topped off cart.

Tea bag is fine. Lipton Pyramid bag material is optimal. It's actually a nylon mesh and it works better than any filler I've ever tried. No wicking problems whatsoever.

How do you prepare the tea bags? Im new to that. Do you just cut it open and empty the tea leaves out, then cut a square out, roll it up and stuff it in the cart? I have a 510 also, and having wicking problems in general.

Thanks man! That will prolly work even better since I imagine those can be rinsed out and re-used. Freakin love this forum.

Basically, yes. Cut off the seams and you're left with a strip of the material. Roll it up in a tube, stuff it into the cart and cut off the excess. There are two methods, one where you use a single tube and one where you fold the tube before inserting it.

Here's a video showing the basic technique:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/tips-tricks/12379-help-cartridge-filling-tea-bag-3.html

With the Pyramid bags, you don't need to cut down the initial piece of material because there's less of it there to begin with, but other than that, the video shows how it's done. The only tricky thing is getting the tightness of the roll right. Too tight and it doesn't absorb enough liquid. Too lose and it won't fit in the cart.

That's the best thing about them. They don't get soggy or discolored like regular tea bag material, and you can rinse them out and reuse them easily. Best of all, the nylon doesn't burn on the atomizer and it doesn't pick up any flavor from the tea. Standard tea bags tend to make your vape tea-tasting.

You should be able to, but Id call first. One thing Im noticing is the fabric is not as rigid and is a bit finer mesh than the pyramid tea bags. I have yet to test its longevity as its day 3 and im still using the cart with the pyramid bag to see how far I can push it. Throwing out the tea, if tea is not your thing, is a waste, but.....that material may be safer for human consumption since its for something edible. The tulle does work, but fabric manufacturers arent really thinking someone will eat their stuff, so it may have some nasty chems they treated it with. Man.....we need an e-cig lab to test and verify all these ideas.

I have no problems using the EcoPure. I'm using the factory filler material with my own revision of the straw mod. In fact I just topped of the cart on one of my 510's and it holds just as much as my other fluids.

The nylon mesh from a Pyramid bag will never wear out. If it stops wicking correctly, just yank it out and rinse it under tap water. It's super durable stuff.

Want to know what's a bigger waste than throwing away the tea? Lipton using petroleum products to make tea bags. The vast majority of people are going to use these Pyramid bags once and throw them away, where they'll go into a landfill and sit there... practically forever. The fact that we're using the bags over and over and over again completely mitigates throwing away a little tea (which is biodegradable) IMO.

Can you help describing the tea bag? I've looked at several posts and watched a video. What's not clear is how tight it needs to be (how long is the strip you roll), do you bend it in half (bend up or bend down) or do you just drop the cylinder in? I tried a bent one and it wasn't very satisfactory. The more details the better.

Cool, Yeah that's kinda what I was getting at - I think it's a waste to buy tea just to chuck it for the bag. I looked for it at the grocery store today but did not find it. Can you get this Tulle at a craft or hobby shop?

You don't have to waste the tea, just brew it first, then use the bag. Then you'll keep 1 nylon teabag out of the landfill. The nylon will not absorb any of the tea's flavor.

Yeah, I did that and made a nice cup of tea while making the wick... it works great - last a lot longer between fills and tastes better.... Whats not to like!

Hmm... I have never used the nylon ones before, but the regualr teabags never seemed to extract all the juice from them. Eventually I wasn't getting any vapor but the tea bag was still soaked, not even a little wet. Of course, I have only tried it once and I might have messed it up. But nylon... time to go steal some panty-hoes!
