USB ports are very susceptible to static electricity. This commonly occurs when connecting & disconnecting USB devices.
If you have to use a USB port for charging I would recommend a powered USB hub.

With my 1000 mAh, I ordered a USB 'fast-charger' that sez: INput-DC5V 0.3A Output=Dc4.2V o.4A Now, I'm just a house-cat, so I have NO IDEA what that means, but this little baby charges mine within 2 hours. I got mine from Todd at Vaperite if that helps anyone. Also noted that I have no other USB items charging, so maybe that's why it's so fast?

Input-DC5V 0.3A Output=Dc4.2V o.4A
Input (what it draws) is 5 Volts 0.3 Amps
Output is 4.2V DC .4A (400 milliamps)
