So just got my eGo during the hardware sale a couple of weeks ago. I'd heard so many people on ECF going on and on about how great it was, so I opened it up like a kid with a christmas present, I was really excited!

Well...I think I must be doing something wrong, because I'm incredibly underwhelmed.

It's not all bad- I ordered a LR debridged atty with it for dripping, and it works just like I thought it would, and that part is very nice...

However, using the normal atomizers with the cartridges is pretty awful. No flavor at all unless I also drip directly into the atty before putting the cart in, but even then the flavor doesn't last long- probably just long enough to burn what I've dripped. It's almost like the atty isn't heating what's in the cart, but I don't see how that's possible because I can take out the cart and see where the bridge is pressed up against the filler material.

Can anyone give me any advice? I've only ever used KR808s, so I don't have any real experience with a 3 piece model. I'm filling the carts up as much as I can (they don't seem to hold much- 15 drops or so) and still it's just no good. Given that people seem to love the eGo, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong somewhere, but damned if I can figure out what it is.

Try one of the new Tank attys on your EGO with the tank cartridges. There is no filler in them and they are so easy to fill and reuseable. Filler seems to have a way of changing the flavor in juice sometimes and if you are used to dripping the tank system is the closest thing to it that I have found but it does the "dripping" for you!

I never enjoyed carts because they don't last long at all.

FSUSA did have a few of the tank attys but may be sold out by now and I'm sure they will be getting more in stock.

The Kr808 is a 3.7v model. The eGo runs at about 3.2v loaded. You're used to a stronger hit, which is why the LR atty is more appealing to you.

Long story short, you downgraded your hit, for more battery life. Personally, I use an eGo, and only drip, and I enjoy it fine. You could try LR cartos, but I'd recommend 2.0 ohm minimum, as 1.5 ohm have a chance of frying your battery.

I only use an eGo and I usuallly drip directly to the atty using a drip tip and like Ogre, I enjoy it. I tried using cartridges early on and just didn't like the filler and didn't feel like I was enjoying the flavor. I do ocasionally use the CE cartomizers when dripping isn't convienent. I'm going to be getting a mod here in the near future but I also think I may try one of the tanks. Just waiting to see what other folks think about it......

Hi Kong,

I am relatively new to the world of vaping, but I use the Riva (eGo) and I've found a few things that might help.

1. Clean your attys, I've had a much better experience with all of my attys (LR and normal) and cartos after they have been cleaned. I've heard others have the same experience, so it is possible it's sort of a quirk to the 510 system.

2. Don't use your carts. I've tried and failed to use the carts numerous times. I found that the ZFM or PTB mod helped a lot, but still is lacking. Cartos work MUCH better and are in my opinion more convenient.

3. Get yourself an eGo T system. I was satisfied with the eGo while using cartos, but it was still too time consuming and messy etc etc. The T system is really simple and the flavor on it is out of this world. It is nearly the same as dripping on my PV and in fact I've pretty much stopped dripping all together due to the convenience and relatively comparable performance of the T system.

4. Take a longer slower toot. I was having some problems with my eGo until I realized that I had to first prime the atty (depress the button without inhaling) for a couple of seconds, then take a long slow draw (5 seconds +) and release the button just before you finish inhaling. This game me a much better hit and a lot more flavor.
