Ego as a passthru?

Hey all, been a while.
I got one of the Ego kits in the mail yesterday. Absolutely love it too. Works perfectly with my tanks, and the battery still hasn't died on me yet.

However, i was wondering, i read (on the V4L website forum i believe), that some people have been using their Ego as a passthru too.
I'm curious how, as i would love to be able to use this one, since my other PT is on the blink.

Could anyone shed some light on this for me please?

if you unscrew the end of the battery, you can hook a mini usb cord to it.

The end doesn't seem to want to unscrew I don't want to force it with a pair of pliers, but will if that's what it needs.

6 string umm, you do not have the eGo passthrough model and I don't think v4l sells those, it's a different model altogether that charges via usb

Oh, that's a bit misleading. Several ppl on the V4L site forum all mentioned how they used their Ego1 as a PT.
So one says one thing, one says another.

Is there anyone who actually owns one of the Ego1 kits from V4L that can say 100% one way or the other that it either can be used as a PT or cannot be used as a PT? Would really love to hear from people who actually purchased the Ego1 kit from V4L, rather than owners of other ego models that didn't come from V4L

i have a ego with 808 threads, that i bought from V4L, i use it all day at work, plugged in a wall usb port.

The non branded eGOs have the removable cap with the USB charger. The newer branded models, the one that has "WowVapor" and "V4L" on it does not have a removable cap for USB charging. I also have heard of people using the unbranded ones as a PT while it charges.

Also we only have a few non branded eGOs left. Almost all of what we have is the newer branded models.

6String sir the pt was removed for one reason-

While it could be used as a pt, it wasn't at 5v because it ran off the battery. Was in the 3.8-4.0v range depending on the batt. This wasn't why though. Charging via the USB dongle for too long would result in overcharging... Fat batts and overcharging do not mix...

Thanks for the responses. Yeah, my ego is a branded one. Well, i'm not too fussed about the PT capability missing from it. As it's been holding up since about 4pm yesterday and i'm still vaping away on it with a tank attached (dual coil 1.50hm insert). So overall, i'm VERY happy with this one and will be getting some more. By now i'd of gone through 2 or 3 batteries of my stealth ones

The one thing I love about the eGO is the battery life.

If you're like me and love using tanks over cartos, you'll love the ego. It's really holding up well. I've been vaping on mine all morning, and all evening yesterday. Still no noticeable change in vapour production.
The mega carto it comes with in the kit is a bit mindblowing too. That thing is HUGE. I'll be saving that for emergencies.

The selling points for me were the battery life and the fact i could use all my current gear on it, without needing to get any adapters or anything.

Good job V4L. This is definitely the winner for me.

Battery is still going. I would say it's been now about 12 hours of use. And that is without topping up the charge on it when it arrived. I just opened it up and put my tank on it straight away.
One of my stealth's would've died within about 2 hours of use. So this is a MASSIVE improvement on battery life.

Just remember the cost of the battery life with the egos 6Strings sir, voltage. Just got the logo'd ones yesterday. Doing all the tests as we speak, the starting load on one with a 2.2ohm wow carto was 3.96v, with a dual coil 1.5ohm was 3.91v....

i don't claim to understand all the differences between ohms, volts, etc. so to be honest, i don't understand much of what the numbers mean.
All i can say is i'm still using the same ego, never been charged once and it's still going strong. My last post was about 2 hours ago and it's as good now as it was then still

i will say that i'm using a dual coil 1.5ohm tank on mine. That's all i can tell you.
