It's just a cover. Best place to get an eGo atty is at Totally Wicked. However, their version of the eGo is called a Tornado. They also sell a low resistance atty for the Tornado, which is what I'm currently using. The low res atty gives better vapor and throat hit, but drains your battery just a bit faster.
At $15 an atty, and with spotty customer service/warranty issues, Totally Wicked is NOT "the best place" for attys. Seriously, you can get them for almost half that, on a daily basis, with a 3-6 month warranty.

Also, to clarify, you should be looking for "510" atomizers. Most suppliers found on the forum will have 510 equipment.

I was just going to say "510 atomizer, in any build, or adapter to 901 atty because the cone will fit and cone will have about 50% utility in keeping heat to cart"
TW has been the front runner in the vaping world, and I have only 9 or so orders from them since feb. 09 from them...front runner because they were alone 1 year ago (SE, njoy do not count, they did not have e-liquid) I still think they this square ball rolling. Look at what changed in the year... TW now has Totally( he he) revamped the problem areas... I never had a problem with them that was not my fault... Ordering from UK web site and checking USA web site and reordering and getting lots of parts and e-liquid yeah for me:)
Vaper Station has Taken back all the "dead" attys Eric sold and tested... They worked! He has 6 month warr. I have no reason to to think TWs stuff would fall into the same user error pile...and no reason to help TW except I like the lil evel guy face, a knife scrape, instant ranny day atty noticable from new atty... Get the TW news letter, at least, it's not always about sales... June is their "ban time" I hope not.

The cone also keeps all leaked liquid from getting all over you. Especially if you drip, unscrew the cone once and awhile and look at the mess.
Definitely try the (510) 1.5ohm LR atty with your eGo. I've had no problems with the ones from TW. ($8.00).

Any perceived difference in vaping with or without the cone is purely psychological.
It's there for cosmetic and possibly ergonomic reasons.

Disagree....there is a difference and it's not just psycological..... it prewarms the air coming into the atty by using the heat of the atty so the vapor is warmor and therefore more pronounced...it also "tightens up" the draw more...

Skip the atties, skip the cone...just go and get some cartomizers. No more dripping, no more flooding, no more burnt taste...just go and get some cartomizers. I have a tornado...and enjoyed dripping, or the high ping cart mod, but now instead of having to carry juice, extra cart, and tweezers, I can carry 4 cartos of varying flavors, and be done with it. I get tired of one flavor, I switch to another. One carto runs out, and I am on the road, I just screw a new one on. Never planned on using these myself, but I can't see any reason to go back.

The only attys I get from tw are the mega 510s in the 5 pack otherwise do not buy from them! How many attys are you looking to buy? Puresmoker gives a volume discount.

I think that what the cone does is to retain the heat around the atomizer and and make for a hotter vape. The 510 burns the hottest of all the attys and I think the cone makes it even hotter. The better the vaporization the better the vape :D

I too must disagree with your statement, the cone tightens up the draw and warms the vapor. I assume you don't own an eGo or you would know this..

Ridiculous. I doubt that you really believe this. Nice try, though. It almost makes sense.

Yes. I've got one right here as I'm writing.
Cone on. Cone off. Cone on. Cone off.
The draw is the same. The sound of the draw isn't!
The illusion is created by the sound being muffled.
The cone doesn't create an air-tight chamber.

Well I guess it depends on what if your using regular atties with carts or cartomizers. The black tape on the cartomizers makes the diameter on the carto slightly thicker, therefore making a tighter draw with the cone on. In fact sometimes it is to tight to draw that's why I & some others have used a drill bit to expand the end of the cone to allow more airflow. Have read a post where someone put a small hole in the cone with a dremal for better airflow.
