Hello Peoples,
Over at cignots web site, under [eGo specific atomizers/cartridges] I saw that they offer a eGo Mega CONE atomizer with specific carts sized for that atty. Googled it, even went to joyes own website and only found the cylinder atomizer and the cone covers for the standard 510 atty everywhere else. Is this a new product or unique to cignot? because even google cant seem find it anywhere else for me.

 i bought 3 of these cone style atomizers for my ego, mine seem to burn very hot, you can drain the 1.9 ml type A whistle tip in no time. They seem to work well except when i draw too long, it really burns the juice leaving a bad taste, possibly because it can wick out the juice so quickly, have'nt found a solution for this yet -any ideas? i prefer this style as the tips are a little smaller than the cigar tips that come with the cylinder style (type B) but a little larger than a 510 standard cart....any solutions would be appreciated.

Cignot as well as Heavens Gifts carry them

I just got my Ego mega cone atomizer yesterday. When it wicks, it's great. It's good for one or two hits and you have to stand it up and let the juice wick by gravity back down into the mesh and wicking.

I tried trimming some of the filler thinking it might be too tight. No better. I installed some Walmart polyfill and played with that. Still not wicking as good as my 510 mega atty. I finally cut a piece of common soda straw a little shorter than the cart is deep and made a blue foam dart with some Marineland blue foam. You have to cut the piece long enough to twist and thread into the straw and fold the foam double to get enough width and thickness to fill the cart end, but it works much better than the standard fiberfill.

It still tends to give that low juice saturation taste when it starts to get low, but there's only couple of drops of juice in the bottom of the cart when that happens. If I fill it up and put the dart back in, I'm good for a while.

Taste and vapor production are great on this atty. The cart design could stand some improvement. Blue foam is my answer at this point. The cone atomizer really goes through the juice and I realized that I haven't thought about an analog all day.

I got my cylinder atty and carts at My Ecig Supply - The best place to get e-cigarette, e-liquid, e-juice, joye 510, KR808D, dse901, cartomizers, electronic cigarettes, and much more! (China). Good service....I've used them 3 times now with no problem except it takes 10-12 days to get stuff from them. Their prices are really good. BUT.....I'm with DaveP. They do have some design issues....hard to get them to wick without leaking. I prefer the 510 Mega attys and carts. They are longer than the regular 510 atty/carts, but the same shape. They are PERFECT as far as I can tell. They hold about 20-22 drops and taste great. The eGo MEGAs are just a little too big.

After two days, I'm still undecided on the mega cone atty. When the saturation is right, the taste and vapor is great. The problem is that it just suddenly lets the coil dry out and I get bad taste. If I do a quick dry burn, the coil goes cherry red, as sign of no juice in the bowl. I can fiddle with the cart, turn it 90 degrees and sometimes the vapor comes back. All this happens while a dent is visible in the filler.

The blue foam is still the best thing I've found. Getting the fit is probably going to be the fix. Even with the blue foam dart, sometimes I have problems with either going dry or flooding. If the foam is too tight, you often get a dry atty. If the foam is too loose, you get flooding. Somewhere in the middle is the right fit.

I have bought a total of 4 cylinder atty's and now I only have 1. The first one was dead in a week, one has a horrible burnt taste from the wicking, and the other I can actually see a piece of cart filler stuck to the bridge that is burnt. And since it's a cone shape, I can't find any tweezers that will fit down in there!

I think all my problems will be solved as soon as I figure out a good cart mod. ...thinking...

I only bought one cone atty and a pack of empty carts as a test to see if there was any advantage over the cylinder type. I found that cutting a piece of blue foam about 3/4" x 1.5" long, fold it in half, trim a little off the folded section (so that the strip has a sort of hourglass shape when unfolded) and stuff it into the cone cart folded end first. Hasn't leaked, wicks at a speed perfectly for me, and doesn't seem to be producing the nasty flavor when it runs low. Holds a hair or so more or less than 1ml in the cart.

Whenever vapor starts dropping noticeably, i use a piece of chopstick to push the blue foam down to the bottom of the cart, fill it up, and use the stick to pull the foam back up to flush. Add a couple of drops to the top and then re-insert the cart. I also take a box cutter to cut a shallow line around the mating area of the cart to make it a little more snug on the atty. The carts I received seem to be a hair loose on the fit.

Thats been my experience too DaveP, the cone atty sucks up juice quickly and you do get some good vapor from it, but its rather finicky and inconsistant. I have also tried the Fluval with varying degrees of success, its hard to beat the 510's though for reliability.

My latest blue foam dart is working just fine in the Ego cone cartridge. It should be just wide enough to fit with slight compression and with no leakage. Make it just a tad wider than the opening in the cart. I had to cut a thin strip and fold it lengthwise. Trim it to a narrower width on the end that fits into the straw. The trick is to make it just tight enough not to leak. The tighter it is the less it feeds. Smaller is better.

The clear straw is a standard size fast food straw. I threaded the foam into it down to the bottom to create a supplementary wick. When you stand the Ego upright on the battery with the cart facing up, gravity reloads the foam. I haven't had any flooding problems and it is keeping my vapor and taste in the sweet spot.
