Was chargng my eGo and noticed it was taking longer than normal (it wasn't fully discharged and was on the charger almost 3 hours hours. Grabbed it and the battery was very hot? Is this indicative of a battery going bad or the charger? It appears to be working and holding the charge but now I'm not sure I want to risk another battery on that charger or try to charge this battery and possibly damage another charger?

Thanks for any insight!

Mine get warm sometimes but never hot. It could be a bad charger or it could be that the battery was over discharged. I would recommend not completely depleting the batts before you recharge if that is an option.

Use it to only 50-60% of its capacity where the recharge time is one hour or so. Don't leave it unattended while charging due to the possibility of fire, especially on that one battery that got hot.

OK, after re reading your post, I see that the batt was not completely discharged. I would try that same battery again, check it every 15 mins to see if its getting hot. But do not charge it over 2 hours....thats assuming you have the 650mah battery. The 900mah would normally be 3 hours if completely drained. If it does overheat again, I would take it out of service and order a new battery. How old is the battery?

If your spare battery also overheats, it is reasonable to assume the charger has become defective.
