Ok gang I have a weird thing going on with my ego battery. When it's charging for about 2 hours the light on the charger will turn a yellowish orange color and when you touch or move it slightly the light goes back to red. The battery doesn't seem to keep a good charge either it's dead in about 2 hours of use. So can I do anything to fix it or is it just dying?

thanks in advance,
misshaunter

it's about two months old and i have cleaned the connections with a alochol swab.

Connections are ok, and it isn't too old . . . unless you use it like crazy. The next questions would be how long it used to last for you, and if you have tried a different charger.

EDIT: Also, is it a manual or automatic battery?

it's a manual ego and I tried it on the other charger i have and it does the same thing. But the funny thing is my reg 510 batts don't do the weird color thing on the charger.

Hopefully you're not using an eGo charger on the regular 510 batteries. That could be disastrous.

As for the eGo battery, I'm out of any ideas. I haven't had mine long enough for one to go dead. I'm just going by what I've read. Sorry. Hopefully it's not dead. There are batteries for cheap all over though. I can't really give you a list, but I know there are plenty of people who have posted prices.

Maybe somebody else will chime in with a solution that will benefit us all.

So you're using your 510 charger to also charge your ego batts? You are suppose to be able to use the 510 charger for the ego batts (just don't use the ego charger for the 510 batts) but its suppose to take 6-8 hours to charge the ego batts on that charger. If you are using the 510 charger are you leaving the battery on the charger for that long to get the full charge ?

Probably unrelated but figured worth posting -

Some recent batches of ego usb chargers don't seem to work properly. Plug into usb - screw in battery and the light on charger stays green despite the battery light flashing three times.

My first usb charger I tried out on my computer and also through an iphone charger...no luck on either, same thing (faulty). Supplier thought it was the batteries that were bad. Received a replacement charger + batteries and the same thing happens when it's plugged into any of my usb ports, but it works fine with the iphone charger. Other people have had luck trying other usb ports on their computers. I've also heard of people cleaning the threads of their charger/battery to fix the problem, as well as it just randomly starting to work.
