eGo blinks while puffing

I would like to ask a question, sometime when I am trying to get my pro tank going
if I hold the button sometimes when I am puffing it will blink a couple of times
It doesnt shut off but it will blink.
Any input?
Not trying to hijack thread but for some reason I cant start a new thread.

My ego batts did this the first time I made my own coil. I hade a short. Once I fixed the problem the intermittent blinking stopped.

As for your issue, are you holding the button too long and getting the cutoff blinking maybe? It's usually 8-10 seconds, depending on your unit.

Three blinks is usually a short or close to it. Check the ohms on your coil.... You could be hitting cutoff - Joye eGo cutoffs are the longest - rated 10 seconds but more like 12-13. Visions say 8 seconds and more like 5 or 6 in my experience. I do a double inhale when vaping so I hit the cutoff on the Visions a lot.

Sounds like the "safety" shut-off to me as well. Too long on the button, and most will blink rapidly a bit. Let go of the button, pause, and you're good to go.

Nice, I was about to suggest that, the cutoff can always be avoided by release and pressing quickly. I actually started doing this after using my coworker's evic that runs a veriable wattage profile. Releasing the button and pressing again is my ghetto variable profile for eGos, works like a charm and also is a great habbit for avoid burnt hits as it helps reduce heat, I think....

As for the blinking, funny that's happening with your protank. I was getting the quick blinks when I first set up my protank too. I'm not sure it was on all the way, or something, cause it only happened that first use and and I'm still using the same head.... The blinking that you're describing is the short warning from my experience.

Not to hijack, but what is double inhaling and how do I ascend to your levels?!

Double inhale - I draw the vapor into my mouth then open my mouth to take and inhale to the lungs - partial air along with the vapor, then another drag either directly into the lungs or with another open mouth inhale as I take the pv away ..... Maybe a second's worth of first draw, 1/2 second open inhale, 2 or 3 seconds final draw/inhale, exhale. Might even be a french inhale in there. (look it up :- )

Ok, I do this too, I was imagining some awesome circular breathing lol. I bet a skilled woodwind or didgeridoo player could vape like a champ!

I had the same problem the first time I loaded up the Protank. Actually all it did was light up and blink right away. I loaded up my other one since I got two and it fired up fine. I ended up taking both apart to see what the difference was between the two and noticed the one that wasn't working wasn't tightened all the way from factory. I just tightened it up and it has been working every since.

You mean the head wasn't all the way screwed into the base from the factory? That's always a good thing to check as well but I was referring to me not screwing it in all the way on the 510 threading.

Yup, the head wasn't screwed all the way from the factory onto the base. Also learned at the same time, it is not a good idea to just load up a new ProTank and vape on it as it will have a metallic taste. Luckily I didn't load much juice into each one and gave them a nice cleaning after inspection. Solved the short problem and the metallic taste right away. Making sure It is screwed all the way onto the threading is definently one of the first things to be checked. Now it has become a hobby to make sure the heads are tightly screwed in while cleaning it and have been having no issues with it firing. Only time it cuts me off is if i take a huge puff and it cuts me off after the preset time.

Nice that's good to hear, same experience for me. Just gotta keep those heads tight. The first time I unscrewed the base from the tank the head actually stayed in the tank and unscrewed from the base! So even if it comes out with the base it could have loosened, so it's definitely a good thing to keep in mind!
