i must be missing something about the Ego-C, it seems like even with the 5-packs the C style is not significantly cheaper, is it better/easier to clean or something like that?

With the eGo-C, in the long run it will be cheaper since all you have to buy is the atomizer itself, not the cone. A 5 pack of atomizer might cost you maybe $25.00. It is also easier to clean and keep clean. I was rotating 2 atomizers for a good month cleaning them once every week and they are still going strong. The extra cone and base you get with the kit, I didn't even touched those.

I thought the battery had some additional protection circuity as well as additional colors on the LED to indicate charge. Is that not the case? I was thinking about picking up an eGo-C battery just for the charge indicator but if thats not standard I may change my mind on that purchase.
The eGo-C batteries do change color depending on charge level giving you estimated % left. But if you get the eGo-C batteries from Ovale, they do not. Ovale did not want that feature because they didn't want more features that could go wrong with the battery.
There are some very interesting posts about cleaning the atomizers also! Recycling cleaned atomizers will get you the savings you desire.
thank you for the replies, i must have been looking at an overpriced site 5/25$ is 5 per atomizer, and since cones seem fairly sturdy (i only have one) seems like 6$ per atty is the right choice for me
