I have been successfully cleaning my ego-c attys. I only clean them when they get hard to draw or the taste seems to deteriorate or if I try a new flavor that I don't like.

I simply soak them in distilled water overnight and then let them dry for a few hours.

If that doesn't work then I use Everclear 191 for an hour then the distilled water. They work like new.

I also clean the atty body in the Everclear. Don't submerge the bat but you can clean the connector end with a qtip and some Everclear.

Edit: I forgot to mention. I also use a can of compressed gas (bitterant free) to blow out the attys sometimes. Works well as a quick fix. I always prime the cleaned attys with some VG and place them in a seal baggie. Keeps them primed.

I was wondering, can you get to the coil by removing the wick and post to do a dry burn?

I only use dry burning to clean my atty. I have 2 friends that have ego-c's, and they dry burn too, after disassembling atty of course. When you get to visually see it go from almost black to 95% white again is enough for me to keep doing it. I've been using the same atty for 3 months and still like new. Good luck

I have not noticed that with my dry burning. I see no green or reddish color on the wick. After I dry burn and clean the wick where is only a little residual black on the sides but white in the middle. My wick pretty much stays completely white, maybe a little bit of brown tint. I wonder if it could be the liquid. I would recommend trying a different company that maybe burns a little cleaner. As a rule, if I cant see through the liquid, I really try not to use it in my ego. I've found that they (dark ejuice) just burns nasty residue on the coil even after 1 ml.

Also, I asked the Vets about dry burning vs soaking and they recommended to me that I soak (grain alcohol, everclear) as my regular cleaning method and dry burn as a last case type scenario. I havent yet tried this yet but good luck.

Maybe cause you didn't dry burn them enough times yet. Did you dry burn an atty for more then 4 time? Cause my juices are all very clean. In fact I mostly used Intellicig which might be the cleanest in the market :D

And what to the veterans have against dry burning? Whats their reason to avoid it? Cause I think soaking this crap won't help much ...

They said that is weakens the coil. I've dry burned my current atty 30-50 times probably and I havent noticed any decline. They did say dry burning is the only way to remove the residue though. I'm not sure if I'll attempt to start soaking as part of my clean now but it is an excuse to pick up some everclear.

I'll have to give Intellicig a try. I've really been digging Copper Creek lately. I've purchased probably 7 or 8 different liquids from them and they are all natural and burn extremely clean. I can burn 5-10 ml of CC and when I go to clean the atty, I can still see most of the coil which is pretty impressive considering some of the dirtier liquids put a 1 mm gunk on my atty even after 1ml.
