After much success with my E-Roll, I decided I would pick up an Ego-C for the house. I am not a novice vapor, almost 1.5 years in I have pretty much used it all. I like the tank system and really want to make this work. I have an Ego-C kit with upgrade batts, 2 atti cones, etc. My liquid varies from 90% pg to 70% pg. Since i received the kit I keep having issues with burnt taste. Ive tried different combinations of attys', atty cones, and tanks. Sometime everything is fine for an entire tank, I go to refill, 2 puffs later I am getting burnt taste. My tanks are the newer ones that have the opening already punched. I have searched and read the various threads, it appears I have a wicking issue but I have been messing with this and cant seem to fix the problem. I have tried blowing into the tanks, draws, tilting, adjusting the tanks, adjusting the atty cone position, I can't find the issue and its extremely frustrating. I can only imagine how a new vapor would feel. Why cant it just work? Any insight and experience would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

With the eGo-c, the only problem I had with burning was using the LR atty/heads. If you have a multimeter or the madvapes resistance meter, I'd see what the heads are actually putting out. And I was using regular eGo-c regulated batts which put out 3.2-3.4 Volts. Since you have the upgrade batts, perhaps you've been vaping in the higher voltage mode. If not, and if you're not using LR atty/heads, then the only other thing it could be is your ejuice. It may be too thin or too light in flavor.

Ya I tried a few juices, still the same. I am now wondering if my atty cones are defective, ie improper airflow or something. I am on my second $22 dollar box of attys, first box was LR and defective (burning on eroll and ego-c), second box is SR, works fine on eroll but random burn issue on the C. I am about to abandon this system completely.

I went a year on the eGo-c system before going to the Kanger T3. But I knew all the tricks from here and was vaping a good VG blend that wasn't viscous. There are fixes for the wicking on the eGo-c attys - mainly either pushing them down into the spike or raising them - perhaps yours needs pushed down a bit to keep the coil wet. Doesn't take much - pry off the spike plate - easy when removing it as the wicking 'fluff' can be on the coil - pull the wicking down. Easier but not as precise perhaps is to push the wicking down in the spike without removing the plate - thin toothpick should do it.. not to far or you may lose wicking in the tank.

Kent, I just tried the toothpick trick, pushed the wicking down some, and it seemed to be helping. You rock! Ill report back later and confirm. I wonder if the suction (tank pulling or drags) is pulling the wicking up gradually, which would explain why it works for a while and starts to burn.

More likely it's the variety in the wick adjustments at the factory :) The fluff at the bottom of the wicking would tend to hold the wicking in place on drawing - even hard draws. I think once you get it right, it will be ok. That was one of the first 'fixes' here - few threads on it - but on page 12 lol.
