As the title suggests, I am wondering why my ego c lr atty heads are quitting so quickly.....I've had a couple of them that will go the distance, but only about 20%...I'm using them on a standard ego battery.

Once in a while, I'll get a dry, burnt hit(don't know if that matters)....

I'm new to this form, but have been vaping for 1 yr.

thanks in advance.

Have you tried taking the atomizers apart (pry the tiny spike plate off the cylinder) and cleaning them? They should last longer than two tanks for sure. Depending on the type of juice you are using, they could be getting gunked up and just need a good cleaning & dry burn.

I have a few LR attys that I use, and they've all had at least 5-6 tanks through them (each) and are still going strong. If you need a link to a good cleaning/dry burn video, holler and I'll dig one up for you.

These are just quitting...as in totally blown when i take my meter to them..I've been dry burning without taking the spike plate off, and that helps sometimes.I used to take apart the ego-t atty's, and the wick would stick to the coil, so I stopped.

The reg. atty's don't have this problem. Are you using ego- c's? I think maybe they're not wicking well enough, thus the intermittent dry hit..

I love the hit when they're working, but don't want to go through 3 per week @ $5. Does cleaning them frequently keep the coil from popping? I don't know.

I wonder if you're popping the coil when you're dry-burning (since you can't really see the coil without taking the spike plate off)?

I honestly don't know why they would be burning out so fast. Here is my suggestion (pretty much what I do): go through a couple of tanks without cleaning or dry burning. Then run it under hot water for 30-60 seconds to rinse it, fill up a small container and soak it in hot water for at least a few minutes. This should prevent the wick from being glued to the coil. Take the spike plate off and have a peek to see if it's gunked. If it is, let it dry first (some folks don't, I do) and then do a dry burn to get the gunk off. I think gunk might be your issue - especially if the wick is sticking to the coil after only 2ml worth of juice.

My only other question is if they're Joye atomizers, or some other brand? There is a huge quality difference in the two, the off-brand ones I got (2.2ohm) weren't worth a lick. I assume since you mentioned $5 a pop, they're Joye brand.

And yes, you can use LR attys on eGo-C systems. They won't last as long as a regular 2.2ohm atty, and they will cause the battery to need recharging sooner (because you are pulling more amps). But you'll get a better vape, which to me is worth a shorter atomizer/battery life.

Standard Joyetech eGo batterys (3.2V) with a SR atty (2.2ohm) = 4.6 Watts and 1.5 Amps. Not the best vape, IMO. Will not get as much flavor or vapor.

Standard Joyetech eGo batterys (3.2V) with a LR atty (1.8ohm) = 5.7 Watts and 1.7 Amps. Better, not going to blow anything up with that.

Non-Joyetech eGo battery (3.7V) with a LR atty (1.8ohm) = 7.6 Watts and 2.0 Amps. Should be an even better vape, still not going to hurt anything.

My husband's joyetech eGo t passthrough is 3.7v and he killed a LR atty in 2days LR was not enough for it

One eGo-C are not meant for LR attys they a fixed 3.7v you need a 2.0omh or more go to SR and it will last much longer.(weeks)

I started with the eGo-c 650mah LR atty starter kit...and it is still my day to day carry vape gear.
The Joye LR attys are made for the ego-c system. They are 1.8 ohm- and I am still using the original three I started with ! (Though, I bought two, five packs to have extras). I think I know what the problem is.

When you fill the carts, you snap the little cover back on...then you must push the cart into the cone body 'All The Way', give it a little twist to line up with the fire button....the atty spike should then be stuck into the cart, feeding the wick.
You mentioned Dry Hits...that tells me you aren't getting ejuice to the atty and just burning it out.
I also cleaned my attys once, about two weeks ago, per YouTube and a little jar of vodka. I do believe that prolongs their life....I want to get as much as I can out of them, and they are still working like new.
They do say that darker ejuice tends to gunk up attys quicker....but I've vapped all kinds.

Hope this helps.

The atty's i'm using are joye brand, with a joye ego battery. I am confident that 1.8 ohms is (or should be) fine for this battery...I haven't taken apart the ego-c spike plate, because of my bad experience with the ego-t (wick sticking)..

I don't take the tank cap off to fill, and I insert it fully. I will try fully cleaning them..I'm also using SR atty's from Joye, which I've never had trouble with.

I wonder if the dry hits, which maybe part of the quick failure of the LR atty, could be solved by pushing the wick down a bit?
Also, I use generally light liquids 80/20.

Yes, I believe if the wick thru the spike is too high and not touching the coils, then it's not keeping the coils wet as efficiently as it should and will cause a dry hit.

I hope the cleaning works for you. Post back here and let us know if it worked.
