what size is it? I don't think they have memory, but you can charge it approx. 300 times. Do you have just the one? My 1000 mAh ego twist c takes about 3.5 hours to charge on average and I let it die before I charge it. But I have two of them and a vamo v3. If you charge it overnight , put it in a place where if something bad happens it won't start a fire.

I have a fast and slow charger....so I do let it charge overnight on the slow one. Most people would be freaked out and not want to leave the battery alone without supervision. I was that was the first month...now , not so much.

You won't over charge it, it will flash when the batteries have drained, the charger has circuitry that detects the Li Ion charge pattern and shuts it off

These links should help

There have been some issues with the ego twist..try to keep it dry, if the juice seeps past the 510 connector it gets on the little unprotected ckt under it and shorts it out

I still say popping it open and putting clear nail polish on the circuit board would save ALOT of those batteries!!! But I'm a tinkerer and like to see how stuff works

You don't have to worry about it.
It will "blink" like mad at you and quit .. right there and then.
What you need is a spare. You always need one to use while the other one is on the charger.
They are super easy to use. You can't over-charge or under-charge them.
Just have a charged one waiting to be used, because when they quit, .. they quit !

Also, check where the "twist" arrow is once in a while. Sometimes it gets bumped etc, and your "sweet spot" can get shifted.
Looking at it, off and on, keeps you from getting a burnt taste or finding it hard to draw.

Enjoy

I just bought the eGo-c twist. The question I got is do I let the ego drain to zero and then charge? Or do I charge it (IE before I go to bed) And how long to I charge it for? I don't want to over charge it either.
Thanks.

Hi

Ok, it sounds like you might be carrying around some old school thinking about other kinds of rechargeable batteries. Rules that applied to NiMh or NiCd batteries don't apply here.

Your eGo has a built in protection circuit that shuts the battery off when the voltage has dropped as low as it should. It's not actually dropping to "zero" at that point, but it is stopping the battery voltage from dropping so low that it starts hurting the life of the battery.

You don't have to wait for the battery to completely shut off before you put it on the charger. It's not going to hurt the life of the battery if you put it on the charger before it's depleted.

A real eGo charger shuts itself off at the end of the charge cycle. Once that light on the charger dongle has switched from red to green the charging is done. Period. Leaving it on the charger won't hurt the battery. Any properly functioning charger cannot over charge a battery if it remains connected after it's reached the end of the charge cycle.

How long it takes? It depends on what size/capacity eGo Twist you purchased. That could run, average, between 2 to 4 hours - depending on what size battery you have. Even for the highest capacity Twist if it's taking a lot longer than four hours to charge you may have a problem going on there.

Actually with the links above...NOT draining your Li Ion battery fully before recharging PROLONGS its life!!! If the cell voltage drops too low it actually kills the battery..it WON'T CHARGE ANYMORE SAFELY!

Excellent post!

Yeah, but that is the whole point - any "smart" PV is preventing that from happening - even an eGo battery. With all this "mech. mod" confusion these days people forget that non mech. mod PV's have all that cutoff protection in there. When an eGo shuts itself down the battery voltage isn't getting much below 3.2 volts when it happens - well within safety limits to prevent damage to the internal battery.
