ego-c twist question

Ok, I went to my local vape shop and bought an ego-c twist (figured out later that it is a knock off but anyways.....) I got it home and my evods don't work on it. The Kanger Protank and my Ce5's work fine but not the evods, I don't think that they are making a good connection as they don't have the spring on them like the Ce5's do, is there anyway to fix that?
Also I was wondering what ohm heads work best with the twist? I have 2.2 and 2.5 for my protank and I'm not sure what my Ce5's or the evods are. The lady at the store told me to use higher ohms with the twist, is that correct?

Thanks~

First check to see if the coil is fully screwed in place inside the evod. If it is, you can pull the center pin on the evod out a bit - needle nose plyers - easy does it. Or the batt center pin may need to be pull up a bit - also easy does it - small flathead screwdriver - easy pry. If you go to far it will disconnect the wires.

As to what heads work best on the Twist - that's the beauty of variable voltage - it doesn't matter. If you have 2.2 ohm most likely you'll be vaping around 3.5 to 4.2 volts. If 2.5 ohms, a bit higher but it should really be determined by vapor and flavor - dial in what tastes best.

Well, its not ideal but there should be a workaround that will solve the problem.

Remove the base from the EVOD and then remove the head from the base.

Take a finger nail and work it in between the contact pin and the rubber grommet (see pic 1).

Use the fingernail to gently work the pin out a mm or two (see pic 2), then reinstall the head in the base and reassemble the tank.

Now, you've essentially extended the contact pin.

Install the EVOD on the battery, and if all goes well, it should contact and the pin will adjust itself to an appropriate height (ie push itself back in) and the unit should fire.

It should also hold its position unless you bump/change the pin, so they will work till you change heads. Then its possible you may have to repeat the process

Thanks both of you, that did it! I can now use my evods again. And it was such a simple fix.

I have a 2.2 ohm head in my protank right now and I am vaping at around a 3.8 so I guess I'm in the right area. It just confused me when the sales lady was saying that I had to use a higher ohm with the twist.

Thanks again for the help!

Glad to hear it worked!

The beauty of the twist is that is can be adjusted to accommodate a variety of common resistances, in no way does variable voltage force you to use higher resistance coils.

Glad that worked! One thing on some eGo's including Joye - although Joye has good short protection. If a coil (usually gunked up) tends to go much below 1.5 ohms it will likely blow the short circuit protection. With a Joye you can usually 'restart it' by using the 5 click on/off trick or put it on the charger for a minute. Only thing.. next short circuit will kill the batt. Joye eGo-c's don't explode.... so far ;)

Thanks!
Yeah, right now I have a 2.2 ohm coil in my protank and I have been running it around 3.8 and it is doing great. I tried going higher to see how it does but with a 2.2 it starts getting a burnt taste if I go above a 4.0.
I am having fun experimenting with it though so all is good. It is my first v v that I've tried. I have been wanting to get a Vamo but thought I'd try this out first.
