i am considering this ego twist starter kit | SERENITY VAPES to get my feet wet in vaping because it seems to be a good price and its local (this is the ONLY local shop i can find and its not even a real shop its a guy in his basement). Is this worth it or can i find better for the same price or less. The other caveat is that he has a VERY limited selection of juice and i would much rather find a local juice maker so i can try to sample some before paying for it.

That's a great kit to start out with, and the price seems pretty good. If it's financially feasible, I would double down on the order. It's always good to have a backup for every part of your vaping kit.

There are less expensive eGo setups, but I find dealing with local vendors to have its own perks. Better and faster service, personal advice and demonstration, etc.

Good luck to you, and happy vaping!

i do try to deal with locals as much as possible, if for no other reason than i hate waiting for shipping lol. Unfortunately i can't get 2 of these at the moment although i wish i could. My only other problem is getting e-juice around here, there doesn't seem to be any other vendors with less than a 40min drive, which is a bit difficult considering my work schedule.

There are a lot of great US-based vendors that offer sample packs. Check it out here - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/439892-suppliers-sampler-juice.html - shipping is usually fast, under 1 week from order to mailbox, and often as little as 2-3 days.

If you can't make the drive, I'd suggest checking out some of these suppliers and ordering their samplers. It's a minimal investment for a wide range of products, and you can reorder in larger quantities based on what you like.

You could find it for cheaper, but not much. If you aren't keen on that vendor you will be able to find these at tons of others. Twists are a great starter device, that's what I started with. I would recommend some evods to top it but that is personal preference. I don't use my twists often anymore, but my fiance still uses them after months and loves them, she isn't a fan of using my mods for work and out and about situations. Quality product.

so you are talking NOT shipping
odd there isn't more shops in Pittsburgh area...

I think you can do better if you are willing to wait a few days...
- Kanger E-VOD Starter kit, Kanger EVOD clearomizer, Kanger eVod Cartomizer
- Kanger eVod Kit - Black

then take a shot, pick a juice & add to order until you can find a LOCAL place to taste test some...

good luck

I avoid vendors with grammatical mistakes in their copy as it seems to me, if they can't proof-read their advertising, perhaps they're negligent in other aspects of the business as well.

Wholeheartedly agree with this, especially when it comes to juice. Seems like attention to detail is quite important beyond moving inventory in this game.

pittsburgh isnt my exact location its just the closest decent sized location and its actually 45 miles away and considering the cost of gas and then what i will probably spend on supplies when i get there i'm trying to keep it a bit closer. There may be more locals closer to me but being a fairly rural area you would be surprised how many people don't bother to make websites for their businesses. I'm also having trouble knowing what to search for on google i've searched e-cigarettes, vaping, e-liquid, e-juice, and for my area i'm still getting mostly regular cigarette results.

also my 1 local guy only has like 5 flavors and only includes Marb or Newport with a purchase so i won't be dealing with him for juice.

oh i am not against shopping online, i should have worded better i suppose. i buy things online all the time but if i have the option i would rather walk in to a place to see and feel the product i am buying. Unfortunately given my remote location that is not an option most times. I am also terribly impatient and waiting for shipping drives me insane lol.

There's one obvious (but extreme) solution here - Start your own vape shop!

HAHA don't think that won't cross my mind as soon as i start getting into this hot and heavy. I've repaired computers all my life so i started a pc shop, i was also very close to starting paintball and car stereo shops when i really got into those as hobbies too. At least a vape shop seems like it would be easier and with MUCH less start up cost than any other venture i have considered. In fact if i can get the initial funds together fast enough i could start an actual vape bar, if the 2 spaces i know of are still available at the time.
