I just received my order from cignot for an ego-c type b. one battery is the 1000mah upgrade battery and the other is a 1000mah twist variable voltage.

few questions/concerns.

1) the atomizer head sits on top of the base and then the base (atomizer head already installed) gets screwed into the atomizer cone. true or false? or does the base and cone get assembled then the atomizer head is slid (head up) into the cone?

2) i noticed a burning taste right away. so i took out the tank...noticed there was a piece of plastic that was still in the way of the hole (not completely covering it...but partially) i noticed it took quite a bit of force to get the atomizer head into the tank (so im not heating up plastic and inhaling that) it still tastes "off". i got my tanks prefilled with menthol (as its usually a safer bet than "tobacco" flavor) anyone order a kit with menthol prefilled in the tank from cignot that can tell me if the off taste is the juice or if ive assembled it incorrectly?

3) is it normal for some juice to collect under the tank where the atomizer head/base are located?

4) my kit came in a "cignot" box instead of a "joyetech" box. is this not legit? even the bottom of my variable voltage battery has a cignot logo on it instead of joyetech. actually many of my parts say cignot on them. ...?

any and all pointers would be appreciated

Ok I have one of those. There is the part that screws on to the battery. Then there is a small piece that pushes onto that base it has a silicon ring the ring side goes down. Then you have the top metal part that screws on next. Then you fill the cartridge. ON the actual atty is a spike that has a wick on it DO NOT REMOVE THAT. Then you put the cartridge in the tank and push until it is flush with the top there is a ring on the cartridge that you can see that will mate up with the base. Let it soak a few min. so the juice will saturate the wick and get into the atty. The fist few puffs may be a little bitter or burnt until the juice gets into the atty. If you have a variable voltage start low and work up until you get a good vape without any burnt or burning taste.
There will be some juice at the bottom of the metal assy that is normal. But it should not leak out of the tank.
Your kit may have some other name on it but if you see a Joytech Ego C type B on the metal it is most likely legit. Mine came in a plastic bag no box. Some vendors make up their own kit. I'm not familuar with Cignot. But that my be who took over the manf. as Egotech had a falling out with the company the make that for so that my be the new mfg. Egotech has a new line out in their name.

Q2 The holes in the tanks should be pre-punched. The first versions were not pre-punched.

Q3 The tanks do leak a little. The hole in the tank does get wallowed out after many insertions, and will need to be replaced.

my tank came with a cover on the bottom. i removed the cover and there was an indent of where the hole is. but it wasnt completely open. im assuming its supposed to be punched when it slides onto the atomizer head??? well it didnt puncture all the way so i got a toothpick and made it open completely.

the taste is still funky...but not burning taste...just a menthol flavor with a REALLY epic throat hit...even on 3.2 its still VERY strong. on 4.8 4get about it. lol. i coughed it was so strong.

im assuming cignot has crappy menthol? mine tastes more peppermint/spearmint but it seems like extra flavoring. im not sure.

The Ego-c atomizer's are low resistance and designed to work well with a standard voltage battery.
You may get a taste of primer fluid initially. If that taste continues you probably just need a better e-juice.

You shouldn't need to crank it all the way up to 4.8 using a standard ego atty. 4 should be about right. Even less if you're fully charged. As for wicking issues, make sure the tank is FIRMLY pressed all the way onto the atty. Always insert the tank holding the unit upside-down so that you are inserting the tank upwards. This makes sure you aren't creating a vacuum between the wick and the tank. After it's inserted, turn it upright (mouthpiece pointed up) and give it a little tap-tap on the side to dislodge any air bubble which might be on the end of the atty spike. You should be good to go. Standard Ego-c tanks are finicky and most of us have abandoned them for better solutions i.e. Vivi Nova, ce5, & DCTs. I suggest you look into those. Good luck!
