can someone please try and explain to me exactly what I am doing. lol. I have a joyetech Ego C upgrade Pass Through Charger, Battery. 5 clicks on/off I get. Blue LED constant voltage 3.3v I get. I have managed to switch it to the orange variable voltage setting, but I have no clue what the voltage is in this mode, other than variable. anyone with this battery who can give me a 101 crash course would be very greatly appreciated. thank you.

dezyner, if this is your battery, it's not what I consider variable voltage. The blurb from the site is:

<The best improvement of Joye eGo-C 2 upgrade is that it has two Voltage modes to choose from. The first mode is the regular eGo-C constant voltage mode which gives 3.3V(when the atomizer is connected to the battery (ie: load added) This mode is the same as the regular Joyetech eGo-C. The variable voltage mode output, will change the voltage from 4.15V to 3.6V as the lithium battery power decreases.>

So, in their so-called variable volt mode, you are getting the voltage that the battery puts out at that point of the discharge cycle and it is of course not adjustable. The actual voltage when you vape is not controlled, so will be less than the no-load bat voltage. Lousy advertising ethics in my opinion to call this VV! OTOH, the pass-through feature is great and at least you have the option of shutting off the regulator when the battery is fresh to get more power. Best of luck with it :toast:

yepper, I get it now, it's basically an unregulated and a regulated. not really "variable", but I just wondered what the "variable" setting bumped it up to. I really only bought a pass through, and yes, that's a great feature since I work on my computer from home, all day, every day, I ALWAYS have a battery charged. I got the "upgraded VV as a courtesy from the guy I bought from. I have two 1300 Vision spinners on their way. But it is kinda nice being able to up the voltage on this while using it as a pass through too. AND I do get more vapor on the unregulated 3.6-4.15 setting hooked to the pass through chord. it's just a 650 batt, not the 1000. kinda nice that my "back-up" battery has that feature too. THANKS!!!

I LOVE my eGo C upgrade passthrough! I got the pink one and it is always attached to my laptop. I have it set to the higher voltage. Funny thing is, I didn't even realize what the 'upgrade' was until after about 2 months, LOL! I just ordered the same kit my sister had because I was new to vaping.

I just recently got a Spinner, too. The highest I've taken it is 4.3

lol. I hear yah, I just realized today that it had that feature, after 5 weeks. I only realized it after re-reading this tiny little "instruction manual" from Joyetech, all 8 lines of the 2"x4" instruction "manual" it came with. then looked online for the rest of the info. better late than never. thanks.

The main thing is that it keeps you off the analogs. Keep at it. And never ever worry about asking questions in this place. That's what we live for.
I hear you. It does the job just fine, kinda a bonus for me today finding out it had that unregulated setting... I keep improving my set-ups and liquids to do just that, stay off the analogs. yesterday was 5 weeks no smoke, 32 years a smoker. Been at them since I was 12, 55cents a pack back then, you could smoke anywhere, and nobody carded kids for them (not sure that was too cool though. lol). Was way past due to hang them up. All I have left now is swearing and unhealthy food, and I'm clinging to them....lol. thanks.
