Ego Carto/Tank Recommendations

Hey Guys,

I've been vaping for a few months now. I've tried the gas station brand, I got a 901 kit that I really liked (vapor production and throat hit, battery life sucked) and ended up mostly using my Ego and homemade passthrough. I'm combating my analog habit, so I'm basically searching for the best vapor production and throat hit I can get. The 901 is great for that, but a battery only lasts a few hours. I like my ego alot, I've been dripping for the majority of the time. I've been using the atty's that came with it, but now I'm looking to step up to something easier/more convenient like a carto or tank system. I've got my juice tastes down to where I'm sticking to mostly one flavor until i'm out... so really no need to drip 50 times daily. I want something with the most vapor production out there, I'm constantly searching for that massive cloud. I'd also like to keep the ease of running one battery on one charge all day long, but want to eliminate the need to dangerously try to drip while driving... I've been researching and seems like people like the boge carto's and resurector's. I'm just trying to see what you guys recommend for my specific tastes.

What do you guys think?

My favorite is from Crystal Clear Vapor. They have the nickname "Resurrector'. It's a single coil cartomizer, which may sound like it's weak, but it is a FOG MACHINE! Lots of vapor, great flavor, and a reasonable throat hit fueled by my ego battery! Easy to fill by condom method, easy to clean (boil 15 minutes, lots of instructional videos here!) I've been using them for decisions of whether a flavor belongs in my permanent arsenal. I want to use 5 ml tanks for flavors I'm sure of, and Crystal has a version for tank use! You wont regret trying them!

I don't have an Ego, but I do have a KGO, which I think is basically the same thing. The Smok-Tech XL 1.7ohm cartos work really well with the KGO.

I've been hearing some good things about Fluxomizers also. Check them out and see which one you think would work better for you. Or order one of each and try them out that way.

I'm going to 2nd this. Just received a 2.5ml Jumbo Resurrector 1.7ohm from Crystal Clear Vaping - I'm on day 3 & loving it. I have it on various egos & it works just great - terrific full taste. Haven't done a boil yet but even if I just pitch it (rather not) it's a great buy.

awesome! thanks for the fast responses. What about using a tank with those? any pros/cons/opinions? I have basically no idea how tanks work, never even seen one in person

I use a tank for when I'm out of the house and I think they're great. Especially if you don't mind vaping one flavor for a while. Just fill it and forget it until you run out. Plus they keep your cartomizer nice and wet all the time, so you don't have worry about burning cartos.

The one I have is a J Tank from electronicstix.com. It was only $20 and I'm happy with it so far. Also, I would invest $8 or so in a self-tapping saddle valve (just go to Home Depot and ask anyone who works there) so you can punch your own cartos. I tend to use Smoktech XL 1.5ohm's since I have plenty of them and they make filling the tank a bit easier.

Awesome. So I can use tanks with any carto as long as its punched? I put in an order for some of the fluxomizer ce2's from gotvapes after watching and reading reviews. I wonder if they could be adapted for a tank?

No, Fluxomizers are like a mini tank in themselves. You can't use Fluxomizers for a tank. However, if you prefer the CE2 route over the cartomizer route, there are vendors that have CE2 tanks

Size (diameter) and construction material are what matters. They have to fit inside your tank. Also, you wouldn't want plastic. Stick with stainless steel cartos for a tank.

There was a time when the discussion here on ECF was mostly about the best ways to make a filler cart work. There was the drink straw mod, polyfill, fish tank foam, and all sorts of other mods.

Now, we have high tech solutions for vaping. I'm going to have to try the Ressurrector and the Fluxomizer. I have the Smoketech DCT 1.5 carto tank and it rates right up there with dripping.

Why is steel better than plastic? Is it because the atomizer would melt the plastic?

Plastic may be too big to fit through the holes in the tank. Also, read up on how some flavors weaken the plastic. Just not a good idea!

Sostenuto - No it wont melt it. But punching a hole in plastic is just asking for it to crack and/or break. And ditto what Wickedwench said.

Could you take the plastic off a fluxomizer and just use the insides in the tank if done properly?

that sounds like an interesting idea, but I think there might be some sealing issues around the mouthpiece? just a theory, I have zero experience lol. I just bought two packs of those fluxomizers, so now I'm on the hunt for an inexpensive tank method to try out, just spent $20 on carto's.

I have a couple favorite setups for me Ego Twist.....carto wise I am very happy using a Boge 2.0ohms or the Resurrector 1.7ohm smoktech.....I like my J Tank for my Boges.....I have recently started using the Vision V2....It similar to using a carto tank....doesnt hold as much juice, but it is very easy to use and fill.....hope this helps, congrats on the progress

Thanks! I think I'll be shopping for some SS carto's and a tank next week. so many things to buy! next on my wish list is an altsmoke silver bullet

Lol yeah I'd be using a tank on mine. Looks awesome. Can't justify spending another $100 on a pv with my wife right now lol. I was hoping to maybe find one "preowned" but I imagine people don't get rid of them very often
